Vets Fees For Passport Process For Dogs

Featured Replies

Hi there,

I went to my local vets yesterday to enquire about the process and cost of getting my dogs back to the UK.

Basically I was quoted 20,000 baht for the passport process of microchip, rabies booster, blood test and results.

Is this about right or is this too much?

If its right I will start the process and then worry myself sick about how much the plane tickets will be for the dogs :(

That's too much.

Rabies vax about 70 - 80 baht.

5-in-1 vax about 300 baht.

Taking blood sample for serological rabies testing in registered lab in EU and turning it into a serum about 300 baht.

Sending the serum to the lab with EMS about 1,000 baht

Fee registered lab 50 Euro.

Microchip i don't know. About 500 baht?

Also read the following threat and contact those people who have just send their animals to the UK or are in the process of doing so:

Also contact Soi Dog Foundation in Phuket. They have just send about 6 dogs to the UK via the mainland. Seems to be cheaper.

Thank you very much for the reply, I will tell the vets I wont be taking up their offer. I thought it was too expensive 20,000 for 1 dog!
