They really need to do something about the name though...

Especially this model http://www.gizchina....android-tablet/

I can't imagine walking into a shop and asking for an "Ainol Flame" giggle.gif

Not a good choice of name sick.gif

Just looking at this again

could you explain me exactly the problem with name?I know, that it has something to do with the toilet.I asked few native speakers - they did not know.

Price in LOS is fair comparing with Hong Kong.

I think it is pronounced "Eye-Nawl", or if Thai, "Eye-Non". ;)

Many English speakers would pronounce "ainol" and "anal" the same way. /ˈeɪ.nəl/

The o and the a would both be a weak vowel sound similar to the final vowels in - national, wonderful

If I told people in Australia that I had an "Ainol tablet", they would hear "anal tablet", and think I had a medical condition :)

If you told them you had an Ainol Elf, they would think you're a lucky bugger.

This company Ainol is on market sometime already.I bought pmps from them 4-5 yrs ago.

They are not bothered by your inability to read foreign words properly.

Try - ITALIAN food?

Anus is latin word pronounced:"ahnoos"

Thanks for your help but I think I might just wait for the Aurora 2 which is slated for release at the end of this month although I am tempted by the Elf II as well which is already released

Hi Thai Life

I did notice that www.mpn.in.th seems to be quite expensive in comparison to www.totalaircard.com with the price of the Aurora 1 set at 6,700 bht and 5,800 bht respectively. I do like the specs on the new Aurora II advertised at www.mpn.in.th for 7,990 but I will ask my wife to contact www.totalaircard.com to see what price they intend to sell it for first before making a decision

Thanks for the info and your advice so far, really do appreciate it.

JAF

Just been in touch with www.totalaircard.com regarding the Aurora II but they don't have them in stock and no prices are available at the moment so maybe the other company are just taking pre orders.

I do have a few questions though regarding the latest model which is apart from the dual core cpu, whats the difference between the Aurora 2 and original Aurora? And also, in comparison to the Ipad and Galaxy models, how are they able to justify the price differences with regards to the hardware etc

Cheers for your advice

JAF

Picked up the Ainol novo7 Paladin at Pranthip this past weekend. 4k baht.

After much consideration I think I will end up buying the ICOO D90W Android 4.0 Tablet PC which has a 9.7 Inch IPS Screen , an All Winner A10 1.5GHz, 16GB and capable of displaying 2160P all for 9,500 bht. Anyone else who is interested in this product should check out this video

I still like the Ainol Elf II which was voted the no 1 7" pad at 5,900 bht but the larger IPS screen size of the ICOO D90W and the 16 gb internal memory where the deciders for me.

Thanks to all those who contributed to this thread and to Thai Life for giving me the web address to buy these models

Thanks for the video , its certainly an impressive screen , ive seen them on ebay for around 6,400 Baht ( free shipping to Thailand ) but you may get stung for import tax. sad.png

Would you please update us when you get the ICOO D90W ( or any other model ) thumbsup.gif

Just when I thought I had made my mind up, along comes Thai Life with more essential info and some other alternative models available for similar prices. I will have to take a look on Ebay because 6500 vs 9500 bht is quite a price difference although I have read a rumour on the web saying that there are cheaper and inferior clones of the ICOO D90W and to beware. Sadly they fail to say what the immediate differences are so I don't know how true this rumour is.

I also watched a review on youtube for the new Ainol Elf II that looked very impressive but the best price I have seen so far is nigh on 8,000 bht which seems a tad expensive. I have included the link for the review below

If you know of anywhere that is selling this model at a more resonable price then I might be persuaded to go with the Ainol instead as it is much more portable than the ICOO.

Once again, thank you very much for your info and your valuable input

JAF

Take up those supplier with free shipping. They will ship with post and you don't need to pay tax.

Thanks to all the members who contributed to this thread and offered good advice. It is nice to see and read the valuable contributions that you have all made without the usually "fanboy" nonsense that exists in some threads on Thai Visa.

As it stands, I have to postpone my decision as to which tablet to buy as I am now in the process of buying a house but I will look in regularly on this thread as I do intend to buy a model within the next 3 months or so.

Cheers guys and good luck with whatever tablet you choose to buy
