Eva Air And Travelling With A Bike

Featured Replies

Hi

Has anyone flown to the US checking in a bike (in a box) on Eva Air? Have they tried charging you for an oversized item?

Cheers

Hi Gettrisatarted, Pretty bad news these days I'm afraid. I can't offer the precise info you ask for, but go to:

for some useful information and there are more good links on that page

I've used EVA air from the UK to BKK and back a number of times with a bicycle and have never had problems. I've not had problems either when travelling economy or elite.

Hi did they let you bring your bike free of charge in addition to normal luggage?

If so did you confirm with EVA prior to travel that there was no charge?

Thanks.

they usually give you 2 checked bags for an economy ticket. if you bring a bike then the bike box counts as one of your checked bags.

for economy class its usually a limit of 20 kg per checked bag and total dimensions per bag need to be less than 108 inches. L plus H plus Width <= 108".

If you go over 2 bags or the weight limit then its additional charges.

Business and first class tickets usually have a greater weight per bag allowance
