And if it gets really nasty, Democrat MP Khanchit Thabsuwan is pretty handy with a gun

If he ever gets found guilty & jailed, he can just change political parties and get his custodial sentence "reconciled" to freedom plus 4bn.

As far as I know, we are still waiting for apologies from the red leaders to have disrupted life of millions, and have been at the origin of events that cost lives.

How do we call that?

Posted

those abhisit dem mps are really showing themselves as a bad and desperate bunch.

Worse then their yellow shirt street mob.

storming the speaker like a wild bunch of animals, what ever next?

Abhisit said the democrats will not apologise...

Has the House Speaker who started all of this offered to apologize?

Not much of a punch-up. Where are the brandished rulers, the flying chairs, the hurled jugs of water? Looks more like an unruly queue at McDonalds.

Hmmm, let's see now, would that fall under cautioning or warning?

I would categorize it as urging reasonableness.

Perhaps if Yingluck was present, she could debate the opposite in Parliament.

Yeah, "but / if" Yingluck.

looks as if reasonableness won out.... for today, anyway...

House meeting adjourned

You cannot make real politicians who care for their country, when they are overpaid and biased and corrupted. You can take the thai person out of being Thai, and you cannot take away their culture of corruption and self serving attitude. Whatever happened to the " middle path" and their mendacious 'Jai yen yen"?

Having lived here for long enough...they are not "Jai Yen Yen" and promote this idealogy when it suits them.

A disgrace as politicians who are supposed to lead Thailand! Not something you observe too frequently in educated democracies.

Jungle politics comes to mind!

What about the ordinary citizen of Thailand who just wants a fair wage to provide for their families? They rich get richer and the poorer even poorer. Thai Chinese politics at it's worst!

If there's any brawling to do, Pheu Thai Party MP Karun is the one to call. I half-expected to see the Kung <deleted> Master coming off a top rope somewhere with a roundhouse kick at some point in the video.

The Nation - April 3, 2008

A government coalition MP decided to take things to a physical level yesterday by kicking an opposition member.

People Power Party member Karun Hosakul kung-<deleted> kicked Democrat Somkiart Pongpaiboon

Witnesses say Somkiart was eating with colleagues at the Parliament cafeteria when Karun entered and launched his ineffective attack. Karun then lashed out with a fist, but missed again. Then the pair got into a shouting match, with Somkiart on the end of heated abuse.

In fact, Karun got so worked up that he had to be restrained by police officers and other PPP members.

--------------------------------------------

and then later, a follow-up:

The Nation - May 10, 2008

People Power Party MP Karun Hosakul was yesterday asked to honour his promise to resign after he was found guilty of physical and verbal attacks against Democrat MP Somkiart Pongpaiboon inside Parliament on April 2.

A fact-finding report reached a unanimous decision concluding that Karun had assaulted Somkiart and used rude language, MP Vichet Panvichartkul said yesterday.

--------------------------------------------

He didn't resign as promised, in fact... five months later, he had another victim

The Nation - October 29, 2008

Gothom Araya, Chief Advisor of the National Economic and Social Development Board, Wednesday urged leading members of the People Power Party to reprimand PPP MP Karun Hosakul for having allegedly threatened to kick Senator Rosan Tositrakul.

Karun allegedly made the threat during a joint sitting of the House and Senate on Tuesday.

---------------------------------------------

Still no resignation after the 2nd incident, and now as Pheu Thai Party MP... he's out on bail for Red Shirt terrorism

The Nation - June 8, 2010

Court grants bail to Jatuporn, Karun

BANGKOK: -- The Criminal Court Tuesday granted bail to Pheu Thai MPs Jatuporn Promphan and Karun Hosakul after the two posted Bt1 million in cash as guarantee each.

The Department of Special Investigations asked the court to detain the two without bail but the court disagreed.

The two were charged with instigating people to commit act of terrorism.

epilogue:

He's still a Pheu Thai Party MP.

which clearly reflects the PT-level of education and courtesy... what a poor guy!

Usually early thread nonsense to change the direction and aim it PTT way when the truth is it just demonstartes the true colours of the opposition. It is so noticeable when certain individuals always attack early and turn it into the usual anti Thaksin tripe.

Now that Gaga is out of the picture, lets get back to collusion, circumvention, feeding-frenzy herding. 'Born this way' should be the credo of thai politicians and not just Gaga's album title.

What a bunch of children. I say pass the reconciliation bills. They won't mean anything to an angry mob anyways, and that's who REALLY controls the streets in this country. Get it over with -- get Thaksin back, and then make it quick.

Seen it this morning on the thai tv...was quite entertaining, at least for him!

Sure. He's neither Pheu Thai nor Democrat. laugh.png

Seems they've sorted out the camera phones in Parliament issue, though. There was no porno shown on the big screen the whole time.

The "related to financial affairs" aspect comes about because if the reconciliation bill is approved, 46 Billion Baht would need to be withdrawn from the National Treasury and given to Thaksin.

Before a bill that involves state expenditures can be debated, it needs to be endorsed by the PM and Yingluck has not endorsed this bill.

If you want real leadership, get our lady from Burma to come and run the job. She doesn't need to pay billions out to vote for her, she wouldn't shirk her responsibilities to parliament, she would attend. This lady is loved -genuine love for all to see unlike the Family in command here, who pay for love.

The enthusiasm shown to her is heartwarming her charm is seen as being genuine. It is also noted the lady isn't spending time in Burberry shops and the like lavishly spending about the same as a Philipino from not long ago. The Thai people could do with a breath of fresh air, she is a dream for them here.

Well written ,and I would say this is one of the few times a posters opinion is met with universal agreement clap2.gif

Democrats ask Senate to impeach House Speaker

Democrat and Rak Prathet Thai MPs Thursday submitted a motion to the Senate Speaker, asking the upper chamber to impeach House Speaker and Parliament President Somsak Kiartsuranon as an MP.

The motion, which was signed by 127 MPs, alleged that Somsak had violated Article 125 and Article 143 of the Constitution while chairing the House meeting on Wednesday.

The motion was submitted to Senate Speaker Thiradej Meepian.

The Senate Speaker said he would proceed the motion in line with the legal timeframe.

Translated from Khun Korn's Facebook:

As I mentioned earlier, the "Amnesty Bill" deals with large amounts of money and therefore in fact also falls under the category of being a "financial law." Financial laws must by proposed to parliament by the PM, the PM alone.

The PM must be the one to ask parliament to use good tax-payers' money to hand 46 billion baht to Khun Thaksin, money that was previously confiscated by the courts.

The PM is refusing to come to parliament because she too has interest in this bill - 900 million baht's worth.

The House Speaker yesterday refused to listen nor reason with the opposition, that is why there was so much commotion in parliament yesterday.

Such disorderly conduct should never happen in parliament, but we passionately believe that the Amnesty Bill presents a clear threat to Thailand's democracy and we are ready to oppose a house speaker that is self-serving and stubborn.

Let's start by stop calling this Bill a Reconciliation Bill, this Bill is divisive and self-serving to Khun Thaksin's financial interests. The Bill will white-wash too many corruption cases and it will only set a dangerous precedent.

If this is how politicians behave when conducting business on behalf of the citizens of Thailand, with fighting, yelling and struggles with the police officers on duty, one can imagine what kind of civil strife will prevail when this finally spills outside Government House onto the streets of the city.

In some quarters it might be considered the beginning of a civil war.

There is much at stake and the man in Dubai wants it. Wants it all.
