I Want To Change Passports.

Featured Replies

I want to change passports. I have UK & Australian. Currently I am on my 5th annual extension for retirement on my original Non O visa obtained from Hull in my UK passport which seemed the easiest option at the time. I was there for a funeral but have not lived there since 1976 & now that this passport is soon to expire I don`t intend to renew it.

My idea is to fly to Singapore when my current retirement extension expires. Exit Thailand on my UK passport, naturally, arrive Singapore & get stamped in on my Australian.

Fly back to Bangkok on my Australian & get stamped in for 30 days. After a couple of weeks apply for a 90 day Non O & just before that expires go to my local office, Phitsanulok, & apply for a one year extension.

Then I would be back to square one. In theory anyway.

Couple of questions.

Can anyone see something I have overlooked? Or indeed a better solution.

Would I need an airline ticket out of Thailand on arrival in Bangkok?

Also would I have a problem if it was picked up by airport immigration at Bangkok on the face recognition thingy that I had recently left the country on a different passport?

OK, three questions.

Instead of all the mucking around and expense, just get a new passport.

Better to have two passports than one.

Why don't you apply for a non-O visa in Kl to start with (friendlier than Singapore).

You need an ongoing flight out of Bangkok or a visa to enter Bangkok. The airline might not let you fly to Bangkok without one of those.
