Forgot Re-Entry Permit So Had To Do Coversion Then Put In Non O Spouse Visa App. Got 90

Recommended Posts

In March I forgot to do re-entry permit prior to a trip to HK

So only got 30 days on arrival back in Thai

Then had to do 60 day conversion and then put in a new non-o spouse visa app with 400k in bank

They gave me the ok and marked my passport for 90 days

Now im supposed to put in another spouse extended stay app to get the other 9 months.

I submitted all the papers for spouse visa.

Question:

Could I if I wanted because I am over 50 now do the extension for retirement rather than to stay with spouse?

Please advice because this would be simpler.

Thankyou

Yes, you certainly have this option, if you meet the financial requirements for the retirement extension, and the immigration official will you love you for it because it means a lot less work for him, too. Incidentally, I believe that a one-year extension of stay – whichever reason you use to apply, marriage or retirement – will be added to the 90-day permission you currently have in your passport. (makes the forgetting of the re-entry permit a little less painful)

As said you now have the non immigrant visa 90 day entry so you can extend for either reason if you can meet the financials and the extension will be 12 months from expiration of current 90 day stay.
