Saturday Night In...

Recommended Posts

It's Saturday night and I'm actually having a night in! blink.png For those that know me in real life, I'm always out on a weekend so it actually feels quite bizarre to be staying in.

I've just started a new job which is quite tiring on top of my schedule so it's really taken it out of me and I am too exhausted to even bother socialising. Part of me wants to go out and celebrate my new job, but the other part can't quite be bothered.

Are there any other people who spend their Saturday nights on Thaivisa and if so, what do you do to entertain yourself if you're on your own?!

This post was bought to you by someone who is puzzled and a little bit lost as to what to do with herself. whistling.gif

TV programs are rubbish, been skyping friends in Europe, Thai Visa on in the background, candles on and enjoying a lovely vintage Port.

The children are in bed, the wife talking to Thailand, the roos in the backyard growling at the possums, Bidding on Ebay, downloading some films... all is very laid back in this household on a Saturday night.tongue.png

PS Congratulations on your new employment!

At least you have a family there with you I guess. :) It's times like these when I wish I was at home with my Mum and Dad as I do miss them dearly and we used to have chilled nights in like you described. Unfortunately I'm on my own with nothing but the internet keeping me company. violin.gif

Thank you for the congrats! biggrin.png

It's Saturday night?

It's not?! ohmy.png

PS. Congrats on your new job. thumbsup.gif

Thank you very much! smile.png What are you doing on your Saturday night?!

I visited my sister for her birthday earlier and also my parents....Family and social duties out of the way I quickly exited the situation, stopped at the supermarket and bought some watermelon and a packet of biscuits.

Came home. Chatting on TV and FB, Internet News.....perhaps will make a cup of African red bush tea. I never watch Television but I do download a heap of movies.

Soon, I will continue reading the book I am halfway through.

For me, I love a nice quiet night by myself. I'm rarely at a loose end when i'm by myself. I enjoy the quiet and the calm.

What makes Saturday evening so special?

Personally, I'd prefer a Tuesday - less of the predictable scallywags out and about.

Yep agreed personally Monday nights are my best nights out living in Phuket Saturday night is every night if u want it although as stated less Scallys on a Monday too.

Young woman alone on a Saturday night.

Nah, I find that too hard too believe.

Now, go out and enjoy life.

Well believe it or not... :P Also I'm exhausted like my original post states. My legs and my feet are so sore that they're throbbing from being on my feet too long all week.

We are chatting down on the Cricket thread ... but you know already.

Just after Midnight here in Australia.

Yes but it's cricket. wink.png

While I find it hard to empathise with your lack of enthusiasm for cricket, I can reassure that the c.1500 posts on the cricket thread include more than a few that are slightly off topic

Well due to work commitments I cannot go out during the week so the weekend is all I have! :)

I rarely drink so am usually in with my gf, who rarely drinks either. Usually eating, having sex (biggrin.png ), watching TV, reading, doing internet stuff. But I remember when I was single I always used to go out on weekends. Seemed very strange when I didn't. But now I get the very occasional night to myself and love the peace an quiet.

congrats on your new job. How long have you lived in Thailand? Or are you somewhere else?

Cricket is a great game for young ladies...

Personally, after a trip down to Sid's for some bangers and mash, and a chance to catch up with the Imam, I rushed home to listen to the Warrington - Hulkingstonerovers game, and subsequently curse my inability to read a schedule, since the game is on Sunday. Anyway, I'd picked up a few tigers, and it seemed daft to let them go stale, so I sat down in front of the TV for a repeat of Friday's game.

Of course, being from Manchester, you'll not be interested in rugby league, its more of a roundball town; though you may be pleased to hear that your neighbours were victorious last night when they entertained the Dragons from France - Salford 34 - 30 Catalans.

I don't suppose you'll be up to popping into the local to see if Calvin has bumped into the Imam

"HawaythereCalvin. How'syerTiger?"

"Stuffed"

"Johnnie! Calvinhere needs anaurTiger. And Ah'llhaeapintina'"

I'm going for a natural high tonight so am listening to Nocturnal Episode 350, mixed by Matt Darey

Husky women voices complemented by the whole range of woofers, tweeters, bass and drums.

I have lived in Thailand since November last year, so not too long. I'm still a newbie to the whole expats thing. However I first came to Thailand years ago. :) I have been working since I got here but I got screwed over in my old job so I left there and got a better paid and better job! Onwards and upwards, right? :)

I'll be in town around the ninth or so, I believe, though I'll need to get castors on the zimmer frame if I'm to go dancing; though I think I have trip to HK booked the same weekend...

There's a couple of tigers in my refrigerator that I don't want roaming the flat overnight, so I'd better deal with them before I call it a night...
