Reconciliation Bills Not Aimed At Getting Thaksin's Money Back: Noppadon

This is the same lawyer who told us, his client would be traveling to England and then to the US a month or so ago. There was nothing in English papers about his arrival nor has he travelled to the US since his escape from justice.

His PR people, lawyers, and coharts, all on the payroll, are keeping his name in print by what ever means. This keeps them on the payroll, as well as stimulating his ego.

That is because Thaksin in ban in UK, and has been ban since day 1 of Thaksin conviction.

If he dare to arrive in UK, MI5 MI6 and Interpol will arrest his and pass him back to Thailand coup government.

I presume that you are yanking one's chain.

His own i would say. The obvious problem is who would they hand him over to - his BIL as CoPolice, his sister as PM, or his cousin as FM, or all three.

Noppadon said yesterday that Thaksin was wealthy even before he entered politics. He said the Forbes financial magazine reported that Thaksin was worth almost Bt70 billion before he became foreign minister in 1997.

Did Forbes then also report on the huge losses he must have apparently suffered between then and his official asset declaration statement in 2001 reporting a miniscule amount, relative to 70 Billion, of only 569 million?

How did he incur such a gigantic loss?

Thaksin is a legend in his own mind. I doubt the English papers would be that interested; as I doubt the English public at large, with the possible exception of a few irrelevant soccer players - who are, in any case, no longer on his payroll - would be that interested.

The published photo could have been opportunistic or a Thai photographer on assignment, and Thaksin was there . . . Or, I suppose, could have been taken at an earlier time.

I'm sure Ms Yingluck, and misters Chalerm, Amsterdam and Dopadom Noppadom have all fired off notes to Thaksin in the past few days, imploring him: "DON'T MENTION MONEY! STAY WITH THE PLAN: the word for the sheeple is 'reconciliation'. Pleeeeeease, stay with the program!"intheclub.gif

He could go into house arrest then? And come out a hero like Aung San Suu Kyi?

There is a simple solution to this reconciliation mess. Thaksin accepts Abhisits two for one offer, Abhisit and Suthep stand trial for the deaths in Bangkok and Thaksins conviction stands. The money is used to pay for all the tablets being handed out and any other improvements to education. Thaksin returns to Thailand, walks through a police station, which would be more time than his wife served and he is a free man......but...we all know that isn't what he really wants, because it would be an admission of guilt.

and open the door for the rest of the pending cases against him to re-open - so even if he didnt spend a single day in jail for the current conviction, once of the others will stick and then he will go down for that...

He was pictured at a soccer match, just weeks ago and presumably taken in the UK. Certainly the British ambassador has kept quiet in the face of commentary about Thaksin once again obtaining a UK visa . . . which, I suppose, could mean anything, but probably that he sees the benefit of avoiding exacerbating the negative press.

And why MI5 - never mind MI6 - should get involved is beyond me.

He wasn't at the football match. His children did.

Many people at the PAD mop say he Photoshop the picture to insert himself there.

Same same as when he Photoshop himself in Fuji a few years back. The prove can be found here:

PS. Thaksin is dead rumor is also true. This is top secret fresh from last week PAD mob attendees. Not just one, but any confirm it.

No. the simple solution is that the rule of law is adhered to and every single member of parliament who faces bona fide charges against them is treated exactly the same as every other citizen of Thailand and answers to them in a court of law. If they are subsequently found guilty after the various courts of appeal they should be forced by the constitution and the judiciary to be subject to whatever penalty is deemed appropriate as punishment for their crimes. That is the really simple solution.

Would his death solve the problem? Is his impending death from cancer the reason to rush this amnesty bill through? Your link to pics of him in the same pose in different clothes and locations sure are suspect?

If Thaksin is dead who did we see on stage during Songkhran in Cambodia? I think he is very much alive and well, although I wonder exactly what journo started the rumour of him going to watch the Man City end of season game.

It is easy to get rich and stay rich when you can get a monopoly, by hook or crook.

There are several such folks in the Kingdom, are there not ??

Think of Booze, Cement, Chickens, Banks amongst others.

I use my ATM card in any one of a dozen different banks. But what really surprises me is a monopoly on chickens, or is it only the ones with teeth?

Noppadon Pattama obviously didn't watch the Thaksin Video call to his people

when he said he was thankful to the red shirt leaders in helping to get his money back.

He was not shy about mentioning his wealth.

Maybe Reconciliation Bills in general are not aimed at getting Thaksin's money back but that is surely a very large, and unacceptable to many, bonus.

In Sonthi's version of the bill:

Section 3 absolves everyone involved in post coup protests of any legal responsibility - Fine

Section 4 stops legal actions against anyone covered in section 3 - Fine, what more do they want? They want

Section 5 - provisions of section 4 will also apply to anyone who has been affected by post-coup judicial process - Bingo! That is where Thaksin and his money come into the picture.

Do you see how it goes - first they define who is covered, then they define what is going to happen to them, and then they suddenly add another group of people who get the same treatment but who hasn't been included earlier.

As it is they can just strip this section 5 and we'll have a nice reconciliation/amnesty proposal. Yeah, reds burned stuff and soldiers shoot people, but let bygones be bygones.

This section 5 is like a sore thumb there - it's so general and potent that they have no need for sections 3 and 4 at all, it already covers them nicely.

And then there's section 6 which is about overturning punishments for vote buying - way to go forward! Is it what reds have been sacrificing their lives for? So that election frauds can walk with their heads held high again? For democracy, right?

"Never underestimate the power of human stupidity."

A good post, direct and to the point, the smoke and mirrors will fool most of the people but as the saying goes NOT ALL, i watch with interest to see just what will happen.

Could this be the reason why the PTP are protesting soooo loudly about the Constitutional Courts decision?

Especially as the CC will publicly explain it after deliberation.

Do you think CC will publicly explain it after deliberation? Thai politics is a maze wrapped in a haze, where no one says what they really mean to say - instead most utterances are encrusted with 'what is supposed/expected to be said,' and is self-censored by 'who might lose face in the process.' In other words, a Thai politician or a CC jurist is rarely capable of straight, no bullshit explanation of anything. Plus, they most often do things in secret. Sunlight is a great disinfectant, but have you ever seen a Thai relax in the sun?

Remember Chalerm (?) when he says he knows about someone breaking the law, the best he can do is mention the first letter of the person's name, and then goes on to say he (Chalerm) won't apprehend that person because that person will suffer enough from the guilt of knowing he did something wrong. If that's what comes down the tubes from Thailand's #1 crime fighter, I don't want to imagine what his underlings are doing.
