Used Planet Numbers for a while, but found their connections very hit and miss, rarely was it a clear line to landlines, always better to mobiles, which was obviously more than double the price. O2 do an international sim, which is 2p/min to landlines and mobiles, and the quality is spot on.

Get a free LEBARA sim card. Cheap phone calls all over the Globe.

Lebara IMO are quiet good also same said for Lyca mobile, and with both of these providers no need to dial another number before inputting the Thai mobile or landline number, both companies are direct dial and relatively cheap.

Also offers they have sometimes make the calls even cheaper, example top up 20 and get 5 free when topping up with Lebara online.

I noticed someone mentioned an 02 sim card on this thread or did I imagine it as I know longer see the post!. Anyway just checked 02 website out and 2pence per min landline for Thailand and 2 pence per minute for mobile so seems to be worth a try.

Edit. Just seen the 02 post so thanks.

You obviously have Internet (how else would you be posting?) so why not get Internet in Thailand if you don't already have it then Skype? I use Skype or FaceTime for talking to parents back in the UK. Also its great for our son to see his grandparents and it's free!

Sorry to say but the topic is about calls from the UK to Thailand not the other way round.

HTH.

What is the difference?. The Op of the topic is talking about phone calls from the Uk to Thailand not internet in Thailand and skype. I read it as the OP is in the UK so what good would it be having internet in Thailand.

He's in the UK, his family is in Thailand. If they both have Internet and a device they can speak and see each other for free. Only offering another possibility as it is what I do.

I get your point mjj and agree it is another possibility but some people prefer a direct dial conversation by phone. I personally prefer that option but each to their own.

Apologies for any misunderstanding.
