A Bangkok Mass Transit Authority air-conditioned NGV(Natural Gas Vehicle) bus collided with a height limit sign by the Asoke bridge, the impact dislodged seven CNG cylinders which hit the ground. Acrid gas smell spread into the area. Municipality officers rushed to the scene and sprayed water on the cylinders. A bike ride and bystanders were injured.

The NGV cylinders secured on the roof fell to the ground and caused, a smelly, gas leakage.

Obviously the driver did not know the height of his bus.

Also this is 2 days old already.

He knew the height that was measured, before the added the NGV bottles.

What - no "controlled burn"?

"At the scene they found the public air conditioned bus number 40 plying the Lamsalee-Saitai route."

At that point in time, I think it safe to say the number 40 bus in question wasn't plying any route.

Something strang about the picture...

I wonder whether he was taking time off from plying roots....

I wonder if the flashing amber lights had come on? If they work. They will be triggered by a height sensor further back along the road.

Maybe to much air in the tires?whistling.gif

Dangerous. Small gas cylinders moving openly through residential/commercial areas. Very hazardous.

Something strang about the picture...

lol, It looks photo shopped almost.

Why did they spray water on the leaking bottles???

Probably a few day laborers were recruited to secure the tanks. In hindsight, it's probably fortunate that they weren't secured properly. Makes the hazard of carrying open tanks on top of any vehicle in residential and commercial areas even more dangerous.

The bottles seem to be floating above the ground in this picture

It's very importent to be seen to be doing something

They are on a black rack, the closest one is missing, the entire rack fell off the bus.

Obviously missed the height warning as well as the "no heavy vehicles" warning on that bridge. :(

Did the driver do a runner?

LOL

I think the paving with it's curved edges might make it difficult for the eyes to focus steadily. That would make it difficult to judge the height of the paving whilst the gas bottles would remain static.
