You try to make me sound a bit ridiculous by copying and paste around about what I have said.

To you and to all others; on the contrary, NOT all condos are the same for short/longer stays.

Well you do sound as if you are trying to pump up Riverside and all I did was to point out that all of the local facilities you mentioned are readily available at many other locations in town. The only exception is Le Coc D'or and that is hardly the place you pop into for a casual meal.

You ask how far walking to a good choice of restaurants, a 7/11, a bank, a pharmacy from

Hillside 4 - 10 to 15 minutes to either Nimmanhemin in one direction or Kad Sean Kaew in the other. Lots of local eating places close by.

Lilly Valley - isn't this still empty ?

Mountainfront - don't know this one.

Rimping Condo - has a good restaurant on the ground floor and less than 10 minutes stroll over the river and you are in Kad Luang which is the biggest market in town.

Flora (behind Riverview) - errrr? I think you answered your own question here.

Embassy Condo - agreed this one is in a similar sort of location as Riverside i.e. a bit out of the way.

Perhaps you mistyped your name and it should have been Wanttosellacondo which would explain your defense of the Riverside?

I feel certain that when people refer to "Flora behind Riverview" they must be refering to Floral? That being the case Floral is a five minute walk from Bake and Bite, Good View, Riverside, Brasserie, Gallery and a ten minute walk from The Dukes, the River Market and Rimping supermarket, not to mention the twenty or so other eateries inbetween - a fifteen minute walk to Thapae Gate.

This is my final post for obvious reasons. I am not in for the yes no games. Just wanted to mention of a "concentration of needed shops, markets, restaurants, banks, pharmacies, hospitals ....." all extremely close to the habitat. Not one or two HiSo or tourist restaurants only.

"short distance" within 200 yards and not 15 min one way coz that's half an hour return.

I was wrong with "Flora"; should have been "Floral". Ten minute walk to Rimping from there? 15 min to Thapae? I think you better run.

Still no answer on the Embassy Condo Khun Samsipet: how far to all those needed things when you live there?

Rimping Condo; yes has a very expensive restaurant and yes Warorot market is at 10-15 min

Some agents tried to sell me a unit at Lilly Valley last year. Still empty you write, is this correct? Waw, I escaped from something.

Enjoy this topic further. I am out.

I stayed at Huay Kaew Residence for 2 months. It was only fair, and the things I wanted were not available:

1) a medium to soft mattress. You had but one choice - HARD!

2) a small kitchenette to heat some food, wash the dishes., Using the handbasin in the toilet was not too thrilling.

3) Good speed internet. They had cable internet which was slow. I found out on the day I left that for a bit more one could get hi-speed!

There are some great little guest houses around, and I have stayed five times at the 'Elegant Lanna', close to Thae Pae Gate, but away from the traffic.

I rent a condo at Riverside and am more than happy. Good building, clean, fantastic pool and everything you need close by. Tuk Tuk say to night market 80 baht, although you have to educate the drivers that you are not staying at the Holiday Inn and that you know 250 baht is not normal. Other than that i would recommend Riverside condo to anyone either long or short stay.

after considering lost deposit and double electric rates; I think you can go to agoda, and do better at a hotel, and get the maid/electric/towels all included.

Thanks for all the suggestions.

It provided me with some fresh ideas.

The great thing about the residences proposed in this thread is that they are all "short term."

I'll probably experiment with both living in the town center and outside the city to see what each feels like.

Thanks again.
