PM Yingluck Goes To Parliament Under High Security

Give it up. He She is just another typical red shirt. Promise them the world and deliver nothing and they will follow you to the ends of the world.

I find the wording used of "Yingluck not ignoring her adoring public" quite pertinent. One thing to vote for a politician, one thing to support a politician, but to adore a politician, whomever they may be, i think hints at a person or people who have sadly been sucked so deeply in to a propaganda machine that they are no longer capable of their own rational or objective thought.

Either that or the politician truly is a most wonderful person.... anything is possible.. this time next year i may be having a torrid affair with "i'm-game-both-ways" stunner Amber Heard.

Perhaps it is the humane side of Yingluck they adore not the political side.....

Just an observation on the benefits of usernames and anonymity.

I wonder how many derogatory posts there would be if we had to use our real names?

And not just on this thread of course.

You can't say that. They might not be his real ears.

While be escorted by all her personal security and armed soldiers,

I wonder if she took a moment to reflect on what a mess her and her

family members are making of Thailand. Did she reflect how sad it is

that she needs such a large protection detail?

I hope she realizes this is probably going to be the way she has to

travel for the rest of her days.

I can just imagine how large the protection detail will be when the guy

from dubuy returns, protection detail will be so large, there will be no

room for other government officials in the house

I hope the are happy with what they have created

That's what I meant by 'losing her way'.... ;)

It's some state of affairs when you have to be accompanied by 10 armed soldiers to Parliament.

Seriously, people need to take a step back here, things could easily spiral out of control.

You seem to have forgotten that Khun Abhisit Vejjajivahad a Military security force of 200 soldiers, Command facilities and the further support of accommodation in Barracks from where he could hide and orchestrate 'we know not what' (Yet).

Those of us that love Thailand wait patiently for the elitist Thai to grow up and accept that their personal gravy-train off the backs of the proletariat cannot continue forever. Further we look to you to respect your Prime Minister and to behave like gentlemen in the House.

My own feeling is they wouldn't know her from Adam (or should that be Eve?) were it not for her surname, much less adore her in any shape or form... but i do of course speak as one on the outside of the fan base.

I do not think that anybody has poured HIV infected blood at Yinglucks front gate.

And if your talking about personal gravy train start looking at the shinawatra family and the other Phua Thai farming families.

How do you know that she isn't respected as Prime Minister she's hardly ever in the house.

Well I am not one of the great Tvisa mind readers so unfortunately I cannot tell you with precision why the electorate adore her, they apparently see qualities you overlook.....no surprise there then....nope I'm not here all week, I seldom post when I am in Thailand, my life is too full and busy, and certainly I never give any thought to politics, I take it you have lived there for some time....

did the article say the army is in Parliament? escorting the PM about?

has it started?

They escorted her because she don´t know the way to parliament, and she don´t know how to use the GPS in her iphone.rolleyes.gif

I got ahead of my self, the article said Soldiers so i assumed Army. I also wondered why the army and not the police were escorting her. As it turns out the unit is an counter-terrorism unit - and a police unit.

it's easy to joke about the reasons, or state it was just a photo-op whatever. i'm now curious to why it had to be this particular police unit doing the security.

Hell do they think she is a terrorist now!

No, but she had to walk through a large crowd of redshirts, so the counter-terrorism branch was entirely appropriate.

Yawn, both sides are equally to blame and equally immature. Things will never change because of this type of attitude by both sides. So much energy, time, money and effort wasted over Thaksin. Yellows created the situation of making his stature somewhere between hero and martyr. The more yellows fight, moan and groan, the more powerful he actually becomes when he comes back. Easy psychological concepts and common sense

I don't agree the "yellows" created a Thaksin as hero / martyr, to the democracy-movement ("yellows") he is a convicted criminal who ran away, pure and simple. The hero-martyr thing is by the redmob who find his billions of baht strangely alluring. Its amazing the power a multibillionaire can hold over people who don't have anything, isn't it. What a surprise.

I agree that "time money and energy" wasted on Thaksin - but can you make the logic-leap to understand that it is the "redmob/PTP/Yingluck" chimera that has dragged Thaksin back into the limelight and centrestage and thus it is the redmob who are wasting time, money and energy - which I will agree with you on.

Haha, completely went over your head about hero martyr thing. Precisely the reason why the yellows keep acting as they do because they don't get it.

all the best martyrs are dead.

That's how they become martyrs. Banishing someone from home country and not being able to keep him down regardless of coup, PAD forcing puppet Samak to resign, and etc., just elevates him in the minds if his supporters.

You gotta laugh at what the PAD does. It has such a profound and positive effect at bringing this closer to a resolution. In reality, everything just elevates Thaskin in the minds if his supporters. Both sides need to learn to accept the results of their elections and focus on reforming elections process rather than childishly fight the system when they don't win.

Maybe if Yingluck or Samak was forcing mass executions in the street and suppressing an entire nation economically and morally, their actions would be warranted. Otherwise, they are just whining because not get their way. Ssame can be said for Reds when Abhist was in office. Mob rules mentality went out years ago in countries that have progressed out of the dark ages. Best thing opposing party can do is back the party in control, hope for the best for the country as a whole, and let the one's in power sink themselves so they can be voted out next election.

Sorry but I have come into my Man Cave (study) to escape from my wife, she exhausts me and this is my only safe haven. I am in my sanctuary under the premise of doing vital work. Like wise, I am sure while you are in Thailand the cost of employing someone to do your washing and ironing would be negligable and would allow you to go out and enjoy yourself

Off topic but you should get out of the news/politics section more, you get to meet the real human beings who are more relaxed, if you did you would have learnt I have two children and a wife who create my enjoyment. I would never interfere in the political persuasion of my wife it is not my place, hence I do not discuss politics, and I insist my wife does not carry the burden of ironing my shirts, she does enough already, but she would certainly not allow outside assistance!!

During her 45 minutes in Parliament, Yingluck was watched over by 10 soldiers from the Naresuan special company in addition to her regular bodyguards.

Did those soldiers already have to watch over her going through the gathering of red-shirt protesters outside ?

PM goes to Parliament under high security

The Nation

Why does she need this.? A planned visit to increase red shirt paranoia about a coup under heavy security for someone who never turns up to do her job!.

Will she have the same security when she goes to give her expert opinion on the flooding down south next week?

No. Don't need to be even clever to work this out..

You make it sound like you are not in Thailand are you in Dubai? You seem to have a lot of posts for some one who seldom posts when he is in Thailand. I take it you are not here now. You seem to be posting a lot about some thing you never give a thought to. I will take that as a apology for taking up air space.

Perhaps we have over looked the qualities you see in her. But the one quality we have not over looked is the quality to take on a job she is not capable of doing. It was a OK quality at her brothers business as there was others to do the work. Notice they never even bothered to fill her position when she left. But it is another thing when she takes on a job that can benefit or hurt all of Thailand.

Would you care to expound on the quality that makes her right for the position?
