PATTAYA;--In a joint operation involving the Tourist Police, Department of Special Investigations (DSI) and the Royal Thai Police Special Branch, with assistance from the Canadian Border Services Agency, an Iranian National, residing in Pattaya, was arrested on Friday Night accused of producing fake passports.

It is thought the suspect provided fake passports to the Iranian suspects involved in the recent bombing incident in Bangkok. Also involved in the operation was the Narcotics Suppression Bureau who believe the suspect has provided fake passports to foreign drug couriers. Police Colonel Songsak, Director of the Foreign Affairs and Transnational Crime Bureau of the DSI led a press conference at the Pattaya Tourist Police Station to announce the arrest of Mr. Parknejed Seyed Ramin aged 44 who was arrested at the Niran Grand Condo Building A in Soi Arunothai, Central Pattaya.

Inside his room Police seized a computer containing a database of 3,000 people who have already been issued with fake passports and other items which could be used to produce fake passports. Police suspect he had the ability to produce fake passports for many countries including Canada, Australia and the United Kingdom and would charge 30,000 Baht for each document. Special Branch believe there is a connection to those who were involved in the recent bomb incident in Bangkok which involved Iranian Nationals however the extent of this alleged link is still being investigated.

Got the police got this one, 3000 names in his database of people who have already been given fake passports, this information is going to be a real pot of gold when it comes to tracking down international criminals, and maybe terrorists as well. How many of those 3000 have entered other countries as refugees and are operating drug smugling or terrorist rings in those countries?
