Looking For Flat Walking/Biking Park

Featured Replies

Im staying in CM near Phantip and Im looking for a park to walk around every day, and maybe even rent a bike. When I was living in Udon we had Nong Prajak Park which was a reservoir and had a nice flat 5km walking trail around the perimeter, and had bike rentals available. Is there one like that in CM? Thanks.

Probably have one. The only park I know of is a small one and you walk around it. It is in the S. W, corner of the moat.

To get to it just walk west along the road that is on the south side of Pantip. You will come to the moat just keep walking. From Pantip to the park is between a mile and a half and two miles I would guess. I am a slow walker so it takes me about 45 t0 50 minutes.

To get orientated Pantip is on the west side of the River. Hope that helps. I know there is another place 700 year stadium I believe but have no idea how to get there and I believe you would need transport to get there. I am sure some one will help on it.

Enjoy

I went to the Srinikarin Fitness Park everyday for 3 months while I was in Chiang Mai. It is connected to the CMU Convention Center. I would jog around or walk the perimeter, which is a 800-1000m loop, which includes a lovely shaded garden area. When you get hot there are sprinklers which you can use to cool off. At dawn and dusk it is a popular place for the locals who use it to run, walk, badminton, tai chi, etc. I was one of the few westerners who used the place.

Thanks for the replies. I will check them out today. Have a nice day!

Maybe a little far out of town for you but there's a nice 5km exercise loop just before Huay Tung Taow lake out along the irrigation canal towards Mae Rim. Not exactly flat, more undulating, but you can hire bicycles there. Walkers & runners go round clockwise, cyclists anti-clockwise. Mostly ;-)

700 Year Sports Complex

Across from Kawila military camp is small park on the river, has walking, joggining path, from your loation , cross the iron bridge and turn right.
