Where To Get Linen

Featured Replies

I am looking for good quality flax linen (not bedclothes etc) for possible suit tailoring. Is this possible in CM? Where? I guess the wororot market but remain doubtful about the quality.

Are there 100% wool (for suits) more easily available - from this market?

Thankyou

My guess would be to start with the better tailors around town, they will have the resources to order in what you need. As linen is regarded as a high quality product despite it always looking like screwed up newspaper I doubt that market traders would have any in stock ....because no one would have the money to take it off their hands early enough.

There are many such tailors who will have a better knowledge than a market trader in Waroros...IMHO

Thankyou

I've found good-quality linen, suitable for shirts, in Warorot, a little south of the the Win cosmestic store that's always mobbed with uni girls pawing thru the displays of cheap padded bras in front of the store.. It's on the same side of the street. I've never seen linen suitable for suit material, though.

Hubby likes linen shirts, because it's cool and sweat dries quickly. But, it does require ironing and looks messy in a hurry. For that reason it makes a nasty-looking suit. I'd suggest visiting the tailors, Fashion King in the Night Bazaar would be my first suggestion. They might have suit-quality linen fabric.

Fashion-King has a tropical weight wool that makes a much nicer looking suit. I've used the same fabric to make dressy skirts that are very comfortable in the heat, when lined with cotton and don't hold wrinkles.

I've found good linen for sheets and pillowcases in Warorot, but nothing good enough for a suit (unsuitable?). I've looked for good quality flax a few times with no luck.

Thanks, I guess I will go and have a talk with Frank.

nancyL, it would be great if you could be a little more specific about the worarot shop, ie what/where is that Win cosmetics shop? i'm not at worarot that often to remember the landmarks etc. thanks.
