Yesterday, my treasured seven year-old Toshiba microwave (once state-of-the-art, includes a special button named "Sake" I have always been to afraid to press) "retired," and, now, while the orange lcd displays go through the its old "dance-moves:" it just does not have the "fire in the belly" anymore. I assume magnetron failure (?).

Any suggestions ? I'm guessing I'll have to replace it.

There are 4 or 5 places of Toshiba customer service in Chiang Mai, one is at Siam TV(2nd branch) on Chang-Lor rd., Haiya , another one is RungRhoj Chiang Mai electronic on Chang Moi road and Chiang Mai Hi-tech on Superhighway road, the rest is more far from in the city.

Sadly may be time to put it in the museum of ancient cooking appliances. My big fear would not be that a repaired unit would not heat food but that the EMR may cook you.

and after 7yrs' having shut that door 7000 times there may be a chance the door seals have perished emitting dangerous microwave radiation into you and not your meat pie.
