Praise where praise is due and this topic is to praise those who have helped me over the last few days. This topic might offend those who keep 'Thai Bashing' but those people can be offended by this if that is the case.

this stems from a compilation of other posts I have made recently with added thanks and details here.

Those helpful people are :-

Rescue Services.

Hospital Staff.

An ex g/f.

The m/c taxi driver who speedily repaired my m/c.

The m/c taxi driver who helped me break into my house.

The same m/c taxi driver who has helped with clinics and also offering to help me at the police station.

All those who have been sympathetic and offered help / TLC if I need it.

From the moment I had my accident a few days ago, the rescue services ( not ambulance) who treated me on the spot and then took me to a remote government hospital. They were very good even though they spoke no English.

The 1st Government hospital where they treated me quickly with TLC and contacted an ex g/f (as my phone was now lost) and got a translation going. this hospital being a place where they see very few foreigners. this hospital that arranged transport for my from one of their staff to take me home because there were no mini buses, taxis or whatever except a long long journey to the nearest place where I could get a mini bus or a taxi.

The ex g/f who dropped everything at work in BKK to come to my aid.

The staff at Banglamung government hospital, Pattaya who took great care of me and also dished out a lot of TLC. They treated me quickly and nothing seemed too much trouble. (And they do not work there for fantastic wages).

The m/c taxi driver who is based near my house and speaks good English. He understood my situation quickly - accident, lost keys, no phone etc., - and he got bolt cutters to break through the gates and also helped me break into my rented house.

The same m/c taxi driver who arranged for one of the other drivers to change the locks on my own m/c as all keys had been lost. The young lad nipped off and brought a set of tools and did this work quickly, efficiently and cheaply and made sure I was happy before he left.

The English speaking m/c taxi driver who told me of a good clinic few foreigners seem to know about. He even went into the clinic to make sure I was getting the right help (though the clinic was closed from 12- 1 p.m. and has also offered to take me to the police station and help me out with any problems or reports.

Other people whom I have not met who also offered to help.

My landlord for having no problem we had to break into the house.

Except for fares and bills, not one has asked for or expected any payment for their help.

So, a BIG thank you to these great people for their help and their care. There is a lot more to the average Thai person than the 'bad mouthers' would have us believe.

Do you really think all these thai people are here on Thaivisa reading English text about farang and their thai wives ?

Pattayadingo - thanks so much for sharing that, and I hope you recover quickly from the accident.

yes aneliane, there are some Thais that do read this board. some may not post, and others may post less, and yet others that post who some may not realise they are Thai.

and whether we are reading or not, its always nice even for the non-Thai audience to read about some positives to counter the negatives (yes Im aware bad stories tend to make news, whereas the basic everyday life of things going well is not reported)

Not forgetting that Thaivisa is one of the biggest source of information for foreigners wishing to visit Thailand, some positive and real life stories are certainly needed to give a more balance picture of our country

I think you missed the point.

She certainly does seem to have. Or is just trying to bring down a good post to her level and that is a shame.

But that sort of comment was what I expected from some.

Well done PD, as mentioned before, it is a pleasure to read something with a positive tone on here.

Theblether doesn't realise how painful a broken toe can be wink.png ......I wish you a speedy recovery.

Leaves one with that warm and fuzzy feeling when good things happen from well intended people.
