webfact
Politics 'will heat up after August 1' THE NATION BANGKOK: -- Politics will heat up and big changes will be in store after Parliament reopens in August, former Thai Rak Thai Party executives said yesterday. "You have to closely watch political developments after August 1, particularly the items on parliamentary meeting agendas. I'm worried about big undercurrents that will alter the country's democracy. If 'they' interfere, it will be difficult to restore confidence in Thailand among the world community," said Warathep Rattanakorn, a former deputy finance minister, without identifying who "they" are. In the seminar on "The political change point, criticism from the real man" marking 101 years of MR Kukrit Pramoj and 62 years of Siam Rath newspaper, he said that after Parliament convenes, politics would reach a turning point because more meetings will be held during the session. There are the constitutional amendment bill, reconciliation bill and 2013 budget bill to be considered and the opposition will file a censure motion against the government. All conflicts could be dissolved in Parliament, he said. In the political system today, losers try to destroy the winners because they think that after destroying the winner they will become the winner again. But why don't they focus on winning public support with good performance, he added. Palangchon Party de facto leader Sontaya Kunplome said that after August 1, political fuses would grow shorter because everybody has their own agenda during parliamentary meetings. -- The Nation 2012-06-

Just to put that into context for you, the basic yearly cost is 1,500,000 baht a year. However, this is basic cost and only paying that is not an option. When you add in any extracurricular activities, uniforms, just about anything really, you will not get much change from 5m Baht per year. He was there for how long? waza
"so you don't agree that it could be read as hinting at a coup? or is it definitely what you interpreted as?" nurofiend 2012 If it isnt cited then its just personal opinion. Conspiracy theory There is no reason for a coup, PTP have done a deal with the privy council and are sticking to the deal. Thaksin doesnt like it, he wants back in Thailand because he is loosing control of the agenda. Remember when the shinawatra clan start running thats when the jig is up. I don't care about the others buy to think that a normal middle class family could afford 3m baht a year for there kid to go to school (will try to explain again, the basic tuition cost is only the start of it and at Eton, the actual cost per year is usually 2 or 3 times the basic cost for tuition. There is no way anyone bar the rich can afford it which he clearly is. Sure, he is not Russian oil tycoon rich, but not many in Thailand are.
