Bit of a prat wasn't he.

Mind you, not so sure they were not bar girls - still, no excuse for groping them. Doubt he will do it again.

A salutary lesson in what not to do in Thailand. coffee1.gif

I was out at the dancing one night with a stunningly beautiful Thai lady, she owned her own business, and was engaged to a Thai. She was propositioned three times in the first 10 minutes by farangs, " How much are you".

The third guy will never forget it.

Those girls can fight. rolleyes.gif

When i first came to thailand i went to "spicy" in chiang mai.. ok this was 10 years ago! I put my hands around a girl and she twatted me on the nose. It wasnt a "grope" although i did assume she was a hooker! I suppose if you are hanging around a load of bar g with hotpants on you should expect someone might think ur a hooker. Still no excuse for groping on the street.

I thought he just propositioned her, I didn't pick up on the groping bit. I've been to Spicey, the old Spicey has now closed down and in some ways it was the most dangerous club imaginable as you had the Loi Kroh division in looking for a punter, and regular Thai girls just in for a dance. I saw a few fracas break out in there and invariably it was over the issue you described.

It was a toxic mix, bg's, holiday makers, drink and good girls don't mix. Guys who were resident in CM or regular visitors such as myself knew the score, The holiday makers didn't, and it got nasty. Even nastier were the fights between bg's that I heard about but luckily never witnessed.

Spicey has been closed down now, and a new club has opened around the corner, which is far more tightly supervised.

We went ashore in Fort Butterworth one night with an Aussie who'd never been foreign before. He didn't drink until he met us either. He grabbed the arse of a ladyboy. She turned round and knocked him out with one punch laugh.pngclap2.gif

My pal was in the merchant navy during the 68-82, he said that Boogie Street in Singapore was legendary, he tells some hilarious stories of guys fumbling about down there. biggrin.png

I was 75-85. Being pedantic it was Bugis Street. Uncle Lee thought it didn't show Singers up in a great light so he shut it down. Miserable sod. It was fun for all the family. w00t.gif

That video has been around for years, but this version with the voice-over is a new twist. Me tinks that someone has taken a bit of creative license with what actually took place as the video was shot on Walking Street in Pattaya. All I have to say is that if it walks like a duck, talks like a duck, wears hot pants and is strutting on Walking Street, then it's for sale.

I would love to have seen it.............my pal was telling about the Thais coming out to meet the boat in the harbour in BKK, he said it was harem scarem, women trying to climb on board blah blah, once he get's started about his days at sea you can't get him to shut up biggrin.png

The main thing to learn from this vid is that if you are foolish enough to hit a Thai person especially a girl in a busy place you better make the first one count because it's will probabbly be your last and eventually you will lose even to as many girls and the extraneous ladyboy as it takes for them to get satisfaction ...... but in fairness to him he really didn't have much choice but to defend himself and wasn't trying to really inflict damage but trying to stop her from hitting him, and once again I have a completely different take, as I see ..... some wacko girl in an area of prostution pertending to be offended (according to the story both on this and U-tube page) pretty much just to beat up a drunk for no acceptable reason and don't find that to be very funny at all.

It's possible that some other person would have deserved it but this story is many years old, and never has anyone accused him of doing anything other than being alone and asking her for sex and getting smacked a little , pretty much just because he was alone and drunk ....... which is not especially sensible but not a crime or something that deserved to get kicked in the head over.

Funny ? ..... only when it happens to the other guy you don't know instead of you or your friend.

Yeah - the first spicy was an open air place around the back of spicy 2. Spicy 2 was crap and smelt bad.. a bit like a mix of ghonorreah and the dregs you get left after brewing your own beer. Now they have spicy 3 thats also bad.

It was mix of mongers, then backpackers and all these foreign girls who went there to get picked up by Thai biker/fake rasta giggilos.. i have no idea why. Many many fights in spicy 2. Every night I think.

You don't want to see this famous Chiang Mai landmark? blink.pngbiggrin.png

I always get amused when I see that too............I suppose it's kinda cute but I always get the idea that it ends in disappointment, if you know what I mean ph34r.png

There is a buzzing scene up around Zoe @ Yellows, I enjoy meeting and talking to a lot of the younger generation there.....they're living the dream, back packing across Asia, scoring with folk of their own age and of every possible nationality. Good on them thumbsup.gif Your only young once, and a lot of these back packers that are so reviled by many TV members will end up with highly responsible jobs and careers, they're entitled to a bit of fun before they take on the yokel of responsibility.

@Smokie..........you can guarantee you will be at Zoe @ Yellow at some point smile.png

Ancient video, but classic.

I personally think it's very offensive to assume and act as if a woman is a sex worker - if that means to publicly treat her in a disrespectful manner, no matter how she's dressed or where she's walking, surrounded by actively soliciting hookers or not.

I don't think I would want to see such behaviour made criminal - however apparently I is likely to be made so in many jurisdictions. Try googling "street harassment" - here are some links.

IMO as long as someone is discreet and respectful, propositioning an arbitrary stranger for sex should be a basic human right. 8-)

The girl is a bit hefty but she has a pony tail which I think is a criminal offence in the land of Toms smile.png

Old video. I saw the original when it was first uploaded and had like a million something views. Tru TV just made up the back story because there's no way they could know what the actual motive for him getting beat was since the uploader who filmed it didn't even know.

Yeah I remember this vid as well. TruTV created and added the narrative I don't believe he was a "Tankee" but since the audience is going to be they make him one. Certainly not US Military . And certainly at least one of those "women" were not women. "Tru"TV is anything but. They produce a lot of totally bogus "reality" shows, like Lizard Lick Towing. 100% fake. And even the ones that are supposed to be real, people have come out after the shows aired and have said that they were asked by producers or trier cop buddy to play the part of a criminal for the cameras.
