A woman beat a man to death with a claw hammer in Haverhill after he changed his will in her favour, a court has heard.

Paul Norfolk, 77, was found dead at his home in Castle Lane on December 30 when police entered the house after being contacted by his brother, prosecutor Andrew Jackson told Ipswich Crown Court.

Bunthawee Rimmer, 49, who denies murder, is alleged to have beaten him to death as he slept and was found injured alongside him.

Less than three months earlier, Mr Norfolk had changed his will to leave his house and most of his money to Rimmer instead of his wife, who was in a care home.

Mr Jackson said Mr Norfolk had lain injured but alive for some 15 hours following the attack. Rimmer did nothing to seek help, he added.

We all know the lengths some Thai women will go to to lay their hands on money, but this one has to be right up there in terms of despicable acts.

Part of me actually wishes it is proven that she was genuinely mentally ill, and it all wasn't just for the cash.

RIP Mr Norfolk.

Whatever Nationality, she will learn that life is not so cheap in the UK courts,if you are caught, and found guilty.

trouble is life in a uk prison will be like a 5*hotel to her if found guilty, where's the rope.

The only real justice will be that she will have to eat farang food for the rest of her life. A fate worse than death for most thai women I know.

RIP to the old duffer. Shame he picked a bad one as she did him in.

OK this relates to both Thailand and the UK.

Can we have a bit less Thailand in the way we approach the story and a bit more UK.

Let the woman be tried in a court of law before we pronounce her guilt or launch into the usual abuse.

who said she's guilty?

Sure!

She was most certainly a very poor victim of male abuse and trafficking. She needs our sympathy! Women are always victims, and therefore she should get some treatment, not jail!

The house she got is a just compensation for what she had to suffer!

As a famous feminist once commented when a woman killed her husband: "One woman did it, now every woman can do it!"

So, according to the Mail, these two old boys went to Pattaya on a sex tour. One of them brought her back as a souvenir, married her and then popped his clogs through old age leaving her nothing in his will more or less and is then kicked out of her house most likely penniless by the old boys family who knows she is a hooker and detest her for their perception of her even if she was the best wife a man could have. His mate sees a chance to relive his tour with his pal so moves her in. She thinks "one of these old bastards is going to give me my pay day" and twists him round to get the will changed, bides her time, and bosh.

Mean while, poor old Mrs Norfolk is all alone now in her moments of lucidity knowing hubby cheated and then got killed.

There you go again, the TV jury have deliberated and found her guilty.

While totally missing the sub-text of the gutter press playing on the Thai Bride theme.

This is precisely the kind of attitudes that create problems for the many thousands of normal Thai/British couples in the UK.

But no let's join the party and enjoy the fun.

We don't need courts of law we have public opinion driven by the gutter press.

She's Thai, she's a gold digger, she's murdered her husband for money.

This is how we should view all Thai wives in the UK.

Courts .... Who needs them?!

Ah "Political Correctness" .... You can't handle the argument so you drag up Politcal Correctness - Well it's all in your own mind.

There is nothing Politically Correct in suggesting courts should decide guilt.

While not trying to defend this woman ,if you read the story ,she hit him over the head with a hammer and then lay on the bed next to him for 15 hours , drank toilet cleaner ,cut and mutilated herself and took tablets ,to be honest she sounds crazy , so lets not jump to quickly to the "Thai woman kills old guy for his money" theory

again i do not defend what she did.

It's very politically correct to demand that people should not discuss matters before a court has decided.

It's also very politically correct to jump in to defend the murderer and show no empathy with the victim.

British justice will ensure that, if proven guilty, she will spend just a couple of years in quite nice prison accommodation at the taxpayer's expense and will then be free to leave with her ill-gotten gains. She'll probably even have her flight back to Thailand paid for her.

And they wonder why the UK is going to the dogs.

You clearly have no idea what Political Correctness is, much less any idea if the principles of legal process.

That asside, can you please point out where I have defended the accused?

I might normally say 'One could not make this crap up' - but you just did.

She will certainly try to play the victim card. "Abused immigrant" "forced to date old men", "killing was last resort in a hopeless situation" etc. Women's groups, immigrant's groups will stand on her side and the court will take all this crap into account.

We have seen it so many times. In the end, she gets a short sentence and a psycho therapy.

Deprived of Thai food, she could probably take her case to the European Court of Human Rights. The annoying parts are, it would be at the taxpayers expense, and she'd almost certainly win.

Did somebody mention political correctness?
