I will be attempting to aquire a NonO based on marriage at either the KL embassy or the Savanakhet consulate. Unsure at this moment, multi entry is critical. Could anyone provide me with current requirements for either/both?

REALLY NEED A MULTI VISA. I will also include letter from my gf cum wife explaining OUR international trips planned for 2012/3 and copy her US visa.

Marriage certificate

Bank book 100K +

Home Registration

Her ID card

Her passport

Her US Visa

Photos inc wedding pics.

????

Cost KL MYR

Cost Lao (Baht or Kip?)

Super busy here in US so thanks in advance. Will check back asap.

You should be able to get a multiple entry visa in the states.

Try contacting one of these Honorary Thai consulates. http://thaiembdc.us/wordpress1/

Honorary consulates are more flexible on the rules and give faster service on mail in applications.

You just need a copy of your marriage certificate and your wife's passport photo page for the visa in the states.

Edit: A translation of marriage certificate is best at some honorary consulates because they do not have anybody that can read Thai on staff (IE: Houston).

In Savannaket Laos the cost of the visa is 5000 baht in the US it is $200.

You won't need any photos other than for the visa application.

In Savannaket you don't need to show any proof of income.

On a toruist visa, after getting married, you might be able to convert your entry to a non-immigrant entry, with a multple re-entry permit.

For a multiple non-O, savanakhet is the place to be (no need to show money) or Kuala Lumphur (need to show 100,000 in a bank account, does not have to be in Thailand).

No need to show a whole initenary, photo's etc. Do take a copy of the entry into the marriage register, khor rhor 2 form.

Thanks but that is not what I asked. I will not be married while I am here. The WDC embassy is a horror show for me.

Sorry about the misread of your OP.

Link I gave is not for DC embassy website (which is broke and only has one page working) it is a page from it that is a list of honorary consulates.

You might be able to get a single entry non O from one of them. Just give them a call and tell them you will be getting married when you make your trip to here and also that your fiancee is the States with you.

You will find that they also are the best choice for a tourist visa as well in comparison to the official consulates.

joe - thanks for your well meaning advice but that is not going to get anyone jack-shit. I fronted up at the emabssy WITH the girlfriend a few years ago and they would not even give me an O for visiting her. In their eyes you are married or not, married MIGHT get you an O and more than likely NOT. They are suck pricks in DC that I bet they would force you into an OA (and the requirements) rather than giving you a smple O if you wanted more than six months - a hunch.

My money needs to stay in US and would rather not go through all the BS financial nonsense (get a letter from your brokerage in triplicate blah blah blah...

I am finished dealing with people in the US. If I were not getting married =, I would find another country. It was easier for my Thai GF to get ten year visa to US than me to get a double visa to Thailand - every year and not a joke.

We will move to US if possible.

Can anybody confirm that they have gotten a MULTI entry Non Imm O from Kuala Lumpur based on marriage? I am legally married and have all paperwork/bank statements in order. I have one Non Imm B and two Non Imm O from Hull before. Hopeing for some clarification before I fly to Malaysia in September.

Silly question, but if the money is in a Canadian bank will the consulate do the math themselves? Meaning my bank statements are not (obviously) totaled in Baht, but dollars. Will they actually look up the conversion rate themselves? If they take non-thai bank statements I assume they must do their own math, but with visas I hate to assume anything.

I believe you are going to Savannakhet so should not be an issue. As for KL believe they currently want the funds to be in Thailand but have been making routine exceptions with recent asking to have in Thailand next time (but would not count on that continuing forever). I would have a current exchange rate printout if doing.

Have done the Savannakhet route and they were great. Live near Nong Khai and was a refreshing change to have someone offer you all the help required. Even gave my wife an address for a great fish restaurant. If you live in the NE and need to do this run send me a line and can post you up with a tour company offering decent 2 or 3 night packages.

All the requirements for getting a 1 year Immigration Type O - Visa (single/multiple) based on marriage is clearly listed on this website (could list them all for you but super busy here as well....think i see a mosquito.....yup, mosquito) and the many forums. You are best to email each Consulate or call them for up to date information though as requirements can change.

However, it seems you may be putting the cart before the horse.... Before worrying about the Visa application, you will need to get married and have all those documents certified and registered. Leaving you plenty of time while in Thailand to get your visa situation worked out.
