Multiple Entry Visa

Featured Replies

Hello

I have a multiple entry tourist visa which was issued to me on 16th May 2012. I entered Thailand on 20th May 2012. Could anyone kindly help with answering the following:

1. My immigration stamp from when I entered the country has admitted until "18th July 2012". Am I right in saying that by this date I should get a 30 day extension. If so could anyone recommend where the best place to get this extension would be and how much it costs? I'm in the Param 9 area in Bangkok.

2. After this 30 day extension is up, will I need to exit the country and come back in, in order to then move onto my second entry of the visa and get another 60 days?

3. I wouldn't mind spending a week travelling outside Thailand maybe in Vietnam or somewhere when I do exit the country, there wouldn't be any issues with exiting just before the extension expires and coming back a week later right?

Thanks

I assume you have a Tourist Visa.

You don't say how many entries you have.

A few days before the 60 days are up apply for a 30 day extension at Bangkok Immigration.

1,900 Baht. You will also need a passport size photo.

At the end of the extension you need to exit the country and return to get another 60 days that can be extended at Immigration again by 30 days.

You can enter Thailand anytime as long as your Visa is still valid.

But be aware your visa may not be valid more than 90 days after date of issue so check closely. You must enter for next/all entry while the visa is valid.

a multiple entry means just that provided you re-enter before it expires in your case if issued 16th may you can re-enter as many times as u like for 1 year less one day ie 15th may13- at least thats what mine does the stamps in mine overlap in dates but i get 90 days again even though i might have an unexpired 90 days ag mu current visa expires 27th aug but i am returning on the 15th aug so my 90 days restarts - i think!!!!

The is no multi entry tourist visa so it does not mean that in this case. A two, three or four entry tourist visa allows that many entries during the validity of the visa and each entry is for the normal amount of time for that nationality and for 30/60 days can be extended 30 days each time. But no new entries can be made once the validity of original visa expires.

Did not realise there are more than 1 type of multi entry mine is a non immigrant multi with no extension of stay so my previous comment dont apply(i am a newbie) however this now raises for me a new question if i leave via phuket on my last day of my visa (with no more validity) and arrive inside swampy at 2300 to catch plane at 0200 (staying inside swampy)on the next day have i overstayed or did my entry into phuket airport count as leaving thailand

Situations like that are why there is no fine for such next day departures until more than one day late.

thanks
