That's great, but I think he may need to upgrade to the vehicle below, if he is going to "survive" and be competitive in the transport industry here, but I think this vehicle would be illegal in Thailand because the passengers get into the vehicle from the rear, not the side.

I think you are onto something. I'll tell him about upgrading. He does have access to lots of various parts and most important he has the will and gumption to do it.

Good point. Maybe Phuket needs this and then to start again.

Maybe that's a bit extreme. If you can't go "through" them, maybe you could go "over" them. Just drive over the blockade. :) :)
