I guess I've always known what self-denial and know-it-all is, but it wasn't until I joined TV I learned the true meaning of the words.

Is self-denial different from self-discipline, then?

"Newco" on the football forum.

Delighted to use it!

OK Guys, being an Aussie, I never venture down to the Football Forum.

Could someone explain the Newco joke or expression?

Glasgow Rangers, one of the biggest alleged football clubs in Scotland, is going through the same pain as Bradford Bulls, though slightly further forward.

Thanks to their previous selfish intransigence and unwillingness to help the other clubs when times were good, they (Newco) are likely to see themselves rejoining the league in the third division, in front of crowds a fraction of those that attend Salford's home games at Barton-on-Irwell. Personally, I'm sad that Gretna won't be there (third division, not Barton) to hand them another beating.

Bangers and mash. I had never heard about that before joining TV, where I discovered that this is the very pinnacle of British cuisine!

Oh, and I also had no idea that Thai/Chinese multi-lingual gardeners existed.
