Expats Club Buffet Breakfast At River Market This Friday

Featured Replies

Thinking of trying this tomorrow (as in town for the weekend)

Apparently on from 10-12 Friday 13th for 200bht. (tomorrow morning)

Anyone been?

Was it worth the money?

Hello Tommo,

I have been away from Chiang Mai for a couple of months so I cannot confirm the latest charges at the River Market but I can say this; that tomorrow 10.00 -12.00 a.m is scheduled for the Expat Club's coffee morning. - not buffet breakfast. There may, indeed, be an earlier breakfast arranged but I have not seen that advertised in the Expat Club newsletter. I suppose that breakfast can be ordered anyway.

As far as the costs are concerned ; when these coffee mornings were held at the previous venue (now closed) the cost was 100 baht and that included a cookie of some description. I would be very surprised if the charges at the River Market would exceed that.

Possibly see you there tomorrow morning.

Cheers.

Well I can tell you the food is good. But they don't have a breakfast menu. And they generally don't open until 11:00 so they might not have a full kitchen open. This is there first time there so we will have to wait and see.

It is a great venue.

Tommo,

My apologies.. I arrived there this morning to find that they do, in fact, have a buffet breakfast at the price you mention (might have added a + charge). Since my wife and I had already had our breakfast we just had coffee and biscuits. 96 baht for the two of us. A lot of people in attendance. The food looked pretty good. I didn't really pay that much attention to the fare. The settings of the River Market and the building itself are very pleasant.

Sorry about the mis-information. Must repeat that the Expat Club's news letter appears to have omitted the mentioned of the breakfast option.

Cheers.
