Email address [email protected] :o

How can Toxin shut down websites other than the few insignificant ones hosted within Thailand?

Good old cybercitter blocklists? Time to kickstart that old Proxy server.

In Germany in the 40's they burned those books that had content the government didn't like. Didn't seem to do them much good.

This guy now has either a life time position or heading for an inactive post soon, the latter most likely. :o

Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra has said that more than 800,000 websites deemed "inappropriate," will be shut down

so these 800,000 are physically hosted in thailand , or is mr 't' talking out his arse as per usual? :o

This is all a translation so don't take it too literally. I assume they mean blocking the offshore sites.

I normally get AP and Reuters news on a daily basis and can see the headlines at a glance. In the last two days I have not been able to actually access and of the stories mentioning Thailand or other Asian countries. Like the story about the protesters at Government house. I went to the Nation and got it. But can't seem to access it through my international news pages even thought the headlines are there. Am I doing something wrong or have they been blocked?

What a pathetic website. On this thaicybercop.com website, which presumably is sanctioned by the Thai government, there are links to blank pages, nothing about the purpose of the site, nothing about who is responsible for the site etc.

I don't usually moan, but this site is truly pathetic! Regardless of my views on restricting access to porn sites etc, if you are going to run a website, at least have the brains to make an effort, rather than this total pile of sh*te!!

Ummm... are they really serious...is that REALLY the logo for this crackdown, or is someone taking the p155?

:o

It's the splash page for http://www.thaicybercop.com... try it and see for yourself.

Another quality Thai website... :D For all the (good) graphic designers available in Thailand, you wonder where they are when people produce sites like this.

There's one page on that site which is exceptionally dangerous (won't link to it). I'm sure it'll be abused to solve some online vendettas.

At least it will keep Newin, the little tinker, out of trouble for a while, sifting his way through 800 K sites for unsuitable images. :D Maybe this all part of Thaksin's anti-corruption drive tactics? :D Take their minds off the serious biz of getting "unusually wealthy" by some good ol' smut. :o

http://www.thaicybercop.com.

at least I for my ip here in Thailand cannot open this page. It says server not found??????

Don’t go to the site, I heard from a inside source they plant some sort of government approved worm or Trojan in your computer. Virus programs wont get it. I don’t know if there is much truth in it but it would stand to reason there is bases on the desire to control everyone.
