HM the King under medical care at Siriraj Hospital

BANGKOK, 14 July 2012 (NNT) – HM King Bhumibol is now under doctors’ care at Siriraj Hospital after earlier reports of a minute subdural bleeding in the left frontal area.

The Bureau of the Royal Household, on Friday, issued the 52nd announcement on HM the King’s condition after having receiving medical attention at Siriraj Hospital.

According to the official announcement, HM the King, on Thursday night, experienced “intermittent twitching of his right hand and his heart beat was slightly increased”.

The statement also said that the medical team has performed an x-ray computerized tomography scan on HM the King’s brain, after which the result revealed that there was minute subdural bleeding in the left frontal area. However, after medication was given intravenously, the twitching of his right hand disappeared.

As of Friday morning, HM the King’s right hand movement, heart beat and pressure have been back to normal.

However, the medical team has suggested HM the King to suspend all royal activities for a while.

Bureau of Royal Household: HM the King’s condition is stable

BANGKOK, 15 July 2012 (NNT) – The latest official announcement from the Bureau of the Royal Household has suggested that HM the King’s condition has been stable after having checked in at Siriraj Hospital again for a minute subdural bleeding in the left frontal area.

The Bureau of the Royal Household, on Saturday, issued the 53rd announcement on HM the King’s condition.

According to the announcement, the medical team said that his right hand can move normally after an earlier report of intermittent twitching.

However, the medical team has decided to continue the intravenous medication until the prescribed dosage is completed.

The announcement also stated that the medical team has found the overall condition of HM the King at a satisfactory stage, with his blood pressure, heart beat and respiratory system all within an acceptable range.

HM the King's condition is gradually improving, medication is continued

BANGKOK, July 15 - His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej's condition was gradually improving, and his right hand could move normally, but intravenous medication would continue to be administered to him, according to Bureau of the Royal Household.

The Announcement No 53 of the Bureau of the Royal Household issued on Saturday said that HM the King could move his right hand normally, but that the royal physician team would continue to give him intravenous medication until the dosage was completed.

The physicians were satisfied with HM the King general condition, as his blood pressure, heart rate and breathing was normal. He also was reported as having slept well.

HM the King had experienced intermittent twitching in his right hand and his heart rate increased slightly on Thursday night.

An x-ray computerised tomography scan (CT scan) of the monarch’s brain revealed minute subdural bleeding in the left frontal area. After medication was given intravenously the minor seizure subsided.

The 84-year-old monarch was admitted to Siriraj Hospital in Sept 2009 with fever, fatigue and a lung inflammation.

He has since recovered from these symptoms but has remained in hospital ever since for nourishment and continued physical therapy. (MCOT online news)
