I am retired with a visa which I've been renewing every 12 months at Bangkok Immigration. For proof of income I present an affadavit from the U.S. Consular Services. (The Consul doesn't request or even allow any proof of this income -- my signature is enough.) I've presented this notarized affadavit at Bangkok Immigration and it's always been enough.

I've heard that the Proof of Income requirements have been toughened for some nationalities, including U.K. What about U.S.? Has anyone here renewed their visa extension recently with just the Consular affadavit?

I renewed In Chiang mai, they didn't ask for any other proof of income other than the letter. I always take copies of my income deposits from my credit union just in case they ask. They have always been able to sak and will ask on ocassion.

There has not been any change. Immigration is free to ask for supporting documents if they wish and at times do so but it is seldom asked and any normal income paperwork showing the declared amount is valid would normally be accepted.

For other readers be aware your signature is under oath that it is a true statement so you could face serious legal issues in home country if found to be false.

Use the letter of income from the British Embassy, never asked for any further documentation except the bank books, and all my stuff is sent to Bangkok from Nonthaburi.
