Today had to do my 90 day report at Nonthaburi. Arrived early as usual, waited outside till 0830. Went in ohhhh my god, all new inside, 8 positions with 6 being taken by officers however, things are slower than before.

First there is a girl at reception you need to see her to get a ticket, then sit down and wait for your number to be called, if this is your first visit since the computer upgrade then you go to position 2 upon your number being called, the young guy there adds your details onto the computer and also sticks a bar code sticker to the rear of your passport. Then you sit back down again and wait for your number to be called to see one of the Officers who will deal with your application. I think you would have to see the guy on position 2 first all the time, as the receptionist did not have a computer, and she looked like she did not really want to be there.

It looks good, but was a lot slower than before, at least I recognized two of the officers, the older lady and the guy with the patch on his eye, probably the best two officers I have ever dealt with. Did not see the old boss (Prasit, I think that was his name), but a new woman sitting behind the officers to the right.

Note as well that the car park has been tarmacked and looks great, also parking bays have been made for visitors to the site. The Burmese still have to report to the right of the main building as you look at it.

There is on the right side a small building next to the place where you can make copies, there you can make the 90 day's reporting. Its just behind the drive Tru they are making, They even put a sign above the dark window. If I recall the text was " permission to stay longer than 90 day's" or something like that. In and out in 2 minutes.

That has always been there and used by the Burmese.

I did my 90 day report on 9 July and only had to visit position # 2 as the officer did everything without extra waiting. The kicker will be the next visit for those of us who have the bar code sticker. That will be the test of how good the system works. Judging by the service so far, it should go very quickly. Here's hoping.
