In short, I don't know, as I really don't do that. My gripe would be with particular people rather than a category.

That's exactly what I mean. Seems to me the ladies on this forum cannot have any discussion about the sexes without it quickly degenerating into a slanging match because undoubtedly a few particular males will take delight in antagonising farang women until somebody blows their cool ... and the thread ends up closed.

This is the Ladies section, so can you guys at least keep it polite and civil?

I have noticed that it happens on here too, but in front of a computer or outside there are some decent ones to be met, they just have to be found. It's always a pleasure to find diamonds in the dung.

It's not difficult to outwit many of them, you can also try asking them if they would sleep with themselves if they were an attractive woman, to which they will reply 'yes' because they know they won't outsmart you and it's easier than provoking an arguement and telling you that you hate men.

The English novelist Rebecca West once said 'People call me a femenist whenever I express sentiments that differentiate me from a doormat or a prostitute' - which I nearly used as a signature today but the irony is that by doing so it would make me look like a feminist in the eyes of the few El Tel type males who frequent this site.

I find the worst men are the show offs in the gym and on the big bikes who have no depth to them and I love turning them down.

The nicer men seem too afraid of me to smile in passing or say hello but the letching and staring unites them both, however it's the Thai's are the worst for staring, they are not at all discreet about it.

So your question is why do men try to antagonize foreign women? I'm not really sure I understand what you mean. If, however, you could give me an example, I would be happy to comment from a farang guy's perspective. I don't happen to come into contact with many farang women here in Pattaya, but I lived in Tokyo for 15 years, so assuming there are similarities between farang women in Thailand and gaijin women in Japan, allow me to give my opinion once you clarify your question/comment.

Just go to any farang woman related thread on this forum and you will see many examples of certain male members throwing in snidey remarks to otherwise sensible discussions and more often than not getting upset answers from women in defense. It happens often and my question is why do some males take delight in antagonising us ? We are not the enemy....

Trust me, they're not smart enough to be conscious of the fact that they're antagonizing you. At any rate, my guess is that they deride that which they covet because they're not bright enough to have a decent conversation with a woman as it is the "fairer sex" that holds the real power in a relationship, yet chooses not to abuse it, most of the time:0-). Conversely, men generally sulk and/or lash out verbally/physically because they feel challenged mentally. I don't see this changing any time soon. Thankfully, though, there are those of us who yearn to speak with a foreign lady as we're far more likely to have something intelligent to discuss with them than we would with your Thai counterparts. Unfortunately, most guys, IMO, mistake subservience for love, then spend the rest of the time trying to justify his relationship with his Thai "mate", making ###### sure that everyone knows she's "different."

fortunately/unfortunately..? i have been mistaken for feminine/gay at times and as such been party to girl only conversations....and let me tell you they are far more degoritory in tone and descriptions of fellow girls and/or guys they know.....

So, thee point seems to be more foccused at what is written on a public forum for all to view, than to what is actually uttered in an "offline" coversation... lol

Just feel sorry for the people, men & women, who, lacking introspection, fail to realize that their initial reactions to almost everything - whether a derogetory comment, a perceived slight, or a complete brush-off - is emotional and is based entirely on fear - fear of being thought of as a loser, fear of rejection, fear of being perceived as stupid or inadequate (this, IMO, is the most common among men. That is, when they're having an argument and feel threatened or backed into a corner, without the requisite brain cells to mount a successful counter-argument, they immediately fall back on their primal instinct and try to fight their way out of trouble. This, however, only goes to show how weak the guy was in the first place due to his inability to counter-attack verbally, thereby lending little if any credibility to his first argument.) This is an inherent trait in people whereby they are fearful of or lash out at what they don't understand, although, IMO, women tend to be more nurturing and empathic.

Also, because of the anonymity offered by this forum, no one need face the person or persons to whom they are directing their comments, and this alone gives them a (false) sense of control over the direction of the discussion, negative or otherwise. You see it all the time. Someone makes a comment, then someone debases the argument by getting personal like, "oh, yeah, well I bet you still wet the bed!," or something just as infantile.

I still have faith in the basic goodness of people, even though most are simply afraid to say what's on their mind for fear of upsetting the group dynamic. All anyone really needs is to love someone and to be loved by someone.

I just hit "new posts" and get whatever was posted since last. If there was a way to not get any posts from this thread I probably would choose it, No offence just not interested.

If that's me you're wondering about, I checked out this forum because I'm interested in finding out what the other half of the population thinks and feels about their experiences in Thailand. I wish there were more farang women here in Pattaya. I miss their company.

N&M, I don't know where you live or what your friends are like but I have a great social life and also have some very good male friends here in Thailand. I DO NOT LACK for company and am far from ignored. In my neck of the woods, we have a great bunch of mixed social circles which is rapidly expanding. I'm enjoying myself immensely thankyou very much....

There are many men who do value and appreciate the foreign women here and it is a bit irksome to have to endure those with a bee in their bonnet. It's a slap in the face which is uncalled for!

Although the question is both provocative and simple, I'll provide only a simple answer to the simple question. It is done for the same reason a dog licks his balls.........because he can.

You pretend you want a deeper answer, I suspect you really don't and you're only interested in 'mixing it up'. Therefore I can't be arsed to provide one.

Ah, but we are the enemy. Those men are still fighting a battle to feel good about themselves and their lives after bad experiences with Western women. The men who simply prefer Asian women don't feel any need to malign us. We are not the enemy to them. In fact, I have met a couple of them in person in Thailand (not TV members) and they were happy to socialize with me, the stereotypical fat Western female, in the lobby of the Nana Hotel.

So Khall, don't bother about the men who feel the need to denigrate us. Don't respond to their taunts in the forums. Just accept that they have Issues with Western women, and that we can't do anything about it. They cannot change us; we cannot change them. We can change how we react to them.

Note: I do agree that *this* forum ought to be Western-women-bashing free. Can we ban certain individuals from just this forum?

They are weak in way way or another that has effect on their consitutions.

I wish there were more farang women here in Pattaya. I miss their company.
