July 19, 201213 yr I just bought a grass cutter with a 2 stroke engine. In the US, I buy a can of 2 stroke oil to mix with the gasoline at the same place I bought the grass cutter. But this is Thailand. The guy told me to buy "T2 oil" at the gas station. Went to the gas station and got blank stares. Where can I purchase 2 stroke engine oil and how is it packaged in Thailand (can, bottle, bulk, etc)?
July 19, 201213 yr Try another gas station, some must have it in stock. Failing that, when you visit CM next time Tesco Hang Dong rd have 2 stroke oil. Plastic bottles 1 liters. Edited July 19, 201213 yr by Semper

July 20, 201213 yr Author Did you ask for 'T2 oil' or '2T oil' or ' Nahm man kruang Sohng tee" ? Thanks for the Thai. That makes sense. Found some at a small gas station 3 km from my village. Fired the baby up this afternoon and did some weed-wacking. Works like a champ!
July 21, 201213 yr A word of advice, sorry if you already know this. 2 stroke engines can produce a lot of smoke and unfortunately a build up of carbon especially in the exhaust. Some 2 stroke oils are worse than others doing this. When I first bought my weed-wacker 9 years ago I used a cheap brand and after about 1 year it needed a decoke! After, the guy who fixed it told me about using a better quality oil and recommended Castrol 2T Activ something or other and not to use as much as the marks on the filler bottle indicate. Since then I have only used Castrol and only about 1/4 to 1/2 the marked amount. It's not needed another decoke and no problems with using less oil. Probably bought the oil from Tesco or similar.
