Delicious And Comfortable At Kao Suay At Big C North.

Situated next to Fuji on 2nd road, I ordered (based on the recommendations read on Thai Visa) the squid in salted egg and a shrimp in chili paste with steamed rice. Total 300 baht.

Good value in this clean air conditioned restaurant. On arrival, all 12 tables were occupied. Photos of interior/exterior/menu/my foods.

That shrimp dish is with sator beans also called stinky beans. Not everyplace has that dish. Another popular place that does is Surf Kitchen, Jomtien Beach Road. They do a good job with it there as well (even though their offerings aren't nearly as consistently good as the Big C place).

In my experience, yes, pretty much every dish is done well at Kao Suay. Another suggestion:

Recently a had a whole small fishes with dry red Chuchi curry there. Very yummy.

Your right - those greens beans (called pete in Malaysia and Indonesia) are less common in Thailand.

I wouldn't say it's the best Thai food in Thailand but it is DEFINITELY a cut above the standard for Thai food in Central Pattaya.

I think you hit the nail on your head with your earlier post: stinky beans. For me they taste and look great - but must contain some type of aromatic compound that the body cannot process (can't think of a polite way of putting it).
