Exit Permit

Featured Replies

Hi all.

I have a single entry ED visa.

If i want to leave Thailand for a short period (internationally), can i get an exit permit on it?

If i leave, does it nullify what is left on my visa?

Thank you!

You require a re-entry permit prior to travel to keep your current permitted to stay on return.

Available from Immigration. 1,000 Baht

Thank you lop.

edit: and Lite Beer!

Remember the re-entry permit keeps the visa/extension alive until the expiry date it does not add extra time.

Cost 1000baht single re-entry and 3800 multi re-entry permits.

Thank you again.

Just another question on this please.

I read that it may be possible to do it at Bkk airport before departure.

Is this relatively easier than doing it at Immigration?

What would the process time be?

Just that i really dislike having to go through the busy queues at CM Immigration, but if bkk imm is hectic too, then of course CM would make more sense.

Thanks!

A re-entry permit at the airport is easy, but only availeble between 06:00 and 24:00 hours and doesn't take that long. The price is higher then at normal immigration, I believe 1,200 baht instead of 1,000 baht.

First you check-in with the airline, and onc you have the boarding pass proceed towards immigration. The are two immirgation halls, only one of them has a re-entry permit desk. Best just to ask one of the persons at the entry to the immigration checkpoints.

You get the re-entry permit before you go through the actual passport control!

Sorry, just a quick edition. ..

CM immigration is always packed at present (seemingly)..so wondered how the airport immigration fairs in comparison. Is it fairly hassle and crowd free? Pleasant? (or do you feel like you are going through interrogation ? :o ) I like the staff at CM immigration, but how packed its been might be easier to do it at the airport.

If you are talking Chiang Mai airport have not seen any reports here except below - it seems they are available at that airport but have not seen any report of actually getting one there.

I don't know about the siutation at CM-airport, but at Bangkok airport it has never been a big problem or long wait to get a re-entry permit.

Immigraiton at an airport are not connected to the immigration office for the area the airport is in. Airport immigration is a seperate division of immigration.

Does leaving Thailand and coming back on a re entry replace a 90 day report? I'm due to report on a day that I'll be out of the country.

Reports only need to be made if you are in the country more than 90 days.

When you return your next report will be due 90 days from the date of entry which includes that date.
