2007 budget approved - 1.5 trillion baht

BANGKOK: -- The cabinet has approved a proposed state budget for the 2007 fiscal year which increases 8.5% from that of this 2006 fiscal year.

The proposed stated budget was approved at the cabinet's weekly meeting, Deputy Finance Minister Chaiyot Sasomsub told journalists.

He said that the proposed budget of 1.476 trillion baht would be a balanced budget for the third consecutive year, with an additional budget of around 116 billion baht - 8.5% - from this 2006 fiscal year.

About 26% of the proposed budget, or 400 billion baht. would be earmarked to support state investment projects, he noted.

The proposed budget figure for the next fiscal year, which will begin on Oct 1, is based on official projections that the Thai economy will grow around 5.0-to-5.5% next year with inflation rate standing at around 3.5% according to the minister.

Well, we can already take this nice paper, and put it in the garbage.

The inflation is going to be much higher than 3.5 %.

Look at the oil price... And even a child could understand that the stand off Iran / World about nukes... is not going to end... tomorrow. It means : Thailand will suffer high oil price ALL year long.

And this is the best scenario. Of course, if US or Israel launch an attack... then well... it's another debate.
