Hi all Im just fillig in form An for my wife. It seems pretty straightorward but I am stumped on question 1.1 in personal info. previous Immigration and Nationality Drectorate or Border and Immigration Agency or UK Border Agency reference numbers. Anyone now what it is?. Also would it be best to go through a checking service?? Thanks for any help.

If you read the Guide and Booklet AN you will find under Section 1; Personal Information

1.1 Enter your Immigration and Nationality Directorate or Border and Immigration Agency or UK Border Agency reference number if you have one.

The nationality checking service does have it's advantages (see the link), but there is a fee to pay. You should check your local authority to see what they charge; assuming they do offer the service, not all LAs do.
