Hi guys ... MissFarmGirl is my other half.

Currently she is visiting me for a few months and has availed herself for questions about the Thai Language.

There are heaps of guys here who can adequately translate Thai/English/Thai ... but if you need a fluent natural Thai speakers viewpoint, then post your question here.

Without wishing to doubt her abilities, may I ask what qualifies your "other half" - apart from being a Thai - to answer questions relating to Thai language? It might help to stimulate some responses if she gave an explanation in this respect.

Is that correct? It seems to me ใส่ตะกร้าล้างน้ำ

is more like you can make a velvet purse out of a

sows ear. In this example I think it means to get rid of

a blemish or fix a problem, something like the Thai definition..

example:

(In this case get the daughter a rich husband so they don’t

have to support her anymore.

คุณนีย์ is actually the womans daughter, but due to conniving

she has everybody believing she’s a niece and thats the reason for

หลานเขย in the sentence, I think.)

มีเงินซะอย่างเราจับคุณนีย์ใส่ตะกร้าล้างน้ำ ขี้คร้านจะหาหลานเขยรวยๆ

Its not really a good thing to say. It means basically Ive got money so I can fix any problem.

Did Missfarmgirl get lost in a หนองหญ้าปล้อง ?

What kind of place is demarcated bamboo swamp grass?

What does it look like?

example:

นี่กรุงเทพฯนะ ไม่ใช่หนองหญ้าปล้องถึงจะได้ไม่ต้องเข้าคิว

Sorry; never mind; it's a name of an Ampur
