Appointment At Bangkok Immigration?

Featured Replies

In Chiang Mai you drop in to Immigration and get a number. And then go to the mall, and then have lunch, and then.... If it's important, I hear you get in line at 6 AM.

I will be doing my latest OA retirement extension in Bangkok (our new home) this year, and I will be arriving from Korea and cutting it close to the deadline. It seems I remember reading they have appointments. There is no mentioning of this on ThaiVisa. Was it just a dream? If so, what sort of timing for arrival at Immigration is best?

It was a dream. First come first served - opens at 0830. If you need financials from your Embassy there might be an appointment system however.

No appointment needed...just get inline/get a queue ticket. Assuming you have all your paperwork in order, you should be in and out in approx 2 hours...give or take an hour.. Getting there early in the morning would probably be better and remember they close from 12:00 to 1:00pm for lunch.

They have appointments at Chiang Mai Immigration -- kind of a pilot project from what I understand. The appointment slots tend to book up about 4 - 6 weeks in advance.

But the question was about Bangkok immigration and Bangkok does not use an appointment system.
