Laos Man charged with sexual assault and murder of Cambodian Woman in Chonburi

CHONBURI:--A Laos National has been arrested by Police, accused of sexually assaulting and then killing a Cambodian women whose body was then thrown into a nearby lake.

Police from Pantong Police Station close to Chonburi City were able to arrest the suspect, Mr. Lair aged 30 from Laos on Thursday, one day after the alleged attack took place. The body of the victim, Mrs. Duan aged 31, was recovered after fellow workers at a chicken farm, where the victim worked, searched the area for her.

A reconstruction of the disturbing murder was held and the suspect went through every step for evidential purposes. Mr. Lair claimed he was intoxicated and wanted sex with the woman who then attempted to escape after the assault. At this point she was struck over the head with a large stone which caused the loss of life.
