Indian Tourist attacked and robbed by 4-man gang in Central Pattaya

PATTAYA:--An Indian tourist who accepted a ride back to his Hotel from a Transsexual was assaulted and robbed of a mobile phone and cash in the early hours of Wednesday.

Police were called to the Central Pattaya intersection with the Sukhumvit Road and met with Mr. Prem Pramav Priyadashi aged 26 who was shaken and injured. He explained how he was returning to his Hotel after eating food at a stall at the entrance to Soi Nuen Plub Wan in East Pattaya when he was approached by a transsexual on a motorbike who offered him a ride.

He accepted and jumped onto the bike which was driven towards the Central Pattaya Road. Three men on two further motorbikes approached from behind and Mr. Priyadashi was led into a secluded area close to the intersection where he was attacked. A Blackberry Phone and 1,000 US Dollars were taken from him before all 4 attackers, the four men and the transsexual left in the direction of Bangkok.

No, the LB was just the driver. biggrin.png

1000 dollars. Not bad. Could have been worse, like 30,000 Euros. Why/how is it that the majority of these reported thefts result in such generous payoffs?

Well spotted! There might be a job as a proofreader in there.

Seeing as how this Indian chappie accepted a ride from a Transexual.......is he now bisexual or what?? laugh.png

Another doing what he should not do bites the dust. Hope his mum doesn't find out. whistling.gif

Be interesting to know what his travel insurance policy says about personal cash theft......$1000......perhaps?

Great story. Any witnesses ? Who carries 1,000 USD on them anywhere?

Wasn't there another attack a few weeks ago involving a katoi, is this the start of a new crime wave? Talk like a man, dress like a woman and assult tourists.

he didnt get his ride,oh well bottoms up old chap.

What did Mom say about being suspicious of strangers? Although there are probaly alot of decent katoeys out there, so many of the stories of robbery and violence seem to be connected with them. So, what is the moral of this story? Steer clear of them. Under all circumstances. Leave them for the drunk punters, and the experimentalists.

Now that is one of life's mysteries. Transexuals and katoeys are like a box of chocolates - you never quite know what you're going to get.

Yea, forget experiments, just concentrate on theory.

What an idiot, $1000.00 cash , no safe in his room?? Maybe said that to claim travel insurance, he was Shaken but not stirredw00t.gif

I guess he did, maybe :)

Accept a lift in all innocence from a nice looking "person', just wanted a lift home. Happen to be carrying US$ 1,000 in cash, no change for a taxi, and get robbed.

Hmmmmmmm. thumbsup.gif

.....welcome to Thailand.......

hehe, the transsexual offered him a ride... maybe his and his (ladyb) english did not quite understand each other about what a ride ment :)

A thousand dollars in his pockets, other stories goes like this .robbed in the hotel room, lady took 200.000 baht + the gold Rolex and of course a Blackberry or an iPhone etc etc permit me to very skeptical to most of these stories..

You mean the lb was post-op?

The Indian figured he was going to get a free ride. Oh, was he wrong.

She sure gave him a ride. Wonder if he'll ever come back to Thailand?

The Indian's bulge was his wallet?

He probably has travellers' insurance.

He was last seen renting a jet-ski. :)

Why would anyone carry 1000 USD on them in Southeast Asia? Other than the fact that it's unsafe, you don't even need to carry around that much for spending.
