True Internet Service Cut Due To Overdue Payment, But Still Working On One Computer

Strange to say the least. I have true docsis 30/3 package.

I am notoriously lazy with my true bills, not paying them till the last possible minute, often forgetting until i log on and have no service.

Today i have been working online as usual, with no problems until i tried to log on to my wireless with a new iphone only to receive the truee service suspended screen. Same with a small netbook my daughter uses.

I am now writing this on my laptop, connected via the suspended service. One computer works, but everything else doesn't.

Odd.

You logged on for a compliment? Pay your bills. You remind me of all the Thais at the True office on the weekend trying to pay their late bills. Grow up would ya.

actually, my bill was paid immediately.

what i was remarking on was the fact that the internet remained functional on one device.

i thought some would either find the phenomenon interesting or offer up a suggestion as to why it would be so.

I did not expect some twunt to tell me to grow up.

I realize that some on here are unable to understand that other's priorities may differ, nor be able to admit that their rigid ethos may not be embraced by the rest of the world.

that is my entire point, it does not make sense to me at all.

the bill has been paid, but true has said it will not be turned on until this evening, (some docsis related reason) however, my iphone, a freind's iphone, my secondary laptop are all being redirected to the overdue page, but my main work laptop is still receiving at full bandwidth.

apparently docsis works very differently from adsl. I suspect if i were to reboot, i would lose connectivity.

i neglected to mention to customer service that i still have connectivity.

so, sanctimonious waffle aside, does anyone have any idea how this could be so?

EDIT: yes, i too used to feel lost, now i just use it as a reason to knock off for the day and go wake boarding or do something

The computer that is still working may have had an IP lease obtained before they cut off the service. Typically leases are valid for 24 hours. True may have been refusing to issue new leases but may not have blocked the old one.

that pretty much what i suspect.

it seems free docsis is pretty easy to obtain if you hack a config file and change the modems MAC address.

gotta love the innertube

i noticed it was down this morning around 11 when i connected to the wireless with a new iphone. i then tried another laptop and got the same redirect screen on that.

it is still down, though it should be back on sometime within thee next hour or so, apparently there is no instant flip of the switch like there is with ADSL, they do several batches a day.

package is 1799 THB which comes to 1923 with vat.

the 30/3 plan seems to no longer be on offer, the jump is now from 20/2 to 50/5 now or 1299 to 2799.
