After many years of Non-o Multi entry visas I decided to get an extension of stay based on marriage to a Thai national (Thai wife extension.) TV was helpful in determine what I needed, which includes a Kor Ror 2 registration of marriage. Since we were married in 1970 in Tahkli, Nakorn Sawan I was concerned that a KR 2 would be available. After asking on TV and at my local Khet, I was told the records were not available anymore. I asked the immigration hot line what to do and they suggested going to Takhli with my original KR 3 (marriage certificate) and try to get it registered. A local lawyers office suggested going through the marriages process all over again. I could not accept this as the final answer so I researched the internet and found the phone number for Takhli Ampho and called them. After getting a direct desk phone number, I talked with a very nice young lady that was of great help (although english was not possible- Thai only. ) She found the paper record and input it to the computer system. She then told me to go to my local district office and have a KR 2 printed and certified. All this took about one hour. I then went to our Khet and they were able to print out a proper KR 2 for me at the cost of 10 Baht. This saved a trip to Takhli and many hours on the road. So much for Thai bureaucracy complaints. The Takhli Ampho was very courteous and helpful.

Yes only recent years have been inputted into the computer systems so may require a visit to original office for an old marriage - Takhli seems to have been very organized and helpful. Was living there myself in 1970.
