MuhammandAbdulJabbar Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 Question is. Is there a U.S. Embassy or consulate in Pattaya he may go to pick up the forms to come to the U.S. and also get info on studying in the U.S.? He’s a good friend of mine and has expressed his interest in this matter. Good day;
David48 Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 Welcome to the Thai Visa Forum ... Maybe you could also encourage your friend with the question to also join and thus get the responses directly. In the mean time ... I'm sure that someone with the knowledge you seek will be along shortly ... .
Thanyaburi Mac Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 Your friend will be looking for an "F" visa, for study in the U.S. You can start your research here: http://bangkok.usembassy.gov/niv_visa_classification.html And, here: http://travel.state.gov/visa/temp/types/types_1268.html Mac
bangkokburning Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 Embassies are almost always located in capital cities. There is no consulate in Pattaya for the US. If your friend is a bonnafide student than he has a shot. Better IMO if it is soid coursework post grad, but even English will do. All the students I know in the US come from families of some means. How does your friend plan to pay for all this will be the first question. No, working is not the answer. They come to study, being allowed to work is only a fringe benefit.

He will stay with me until he finishes his studies.
