Took delivery last night.

Going to (gradually) remove ugly items on the bike with a mash hammer 555.

Things to do:

1. Change rear sprocket with 2 less teeth as she does have tall gears.

2. Remove number plate holder with a minimal one

3. Remove those titanic exhausts and fit sexy sounding/looking ones

4. Remove mirrors and fit smaller ones

5. Remove bar ends with tapered Rizoma ones

6. Remove front brake fluid res with Rizoma

7. Replace tyres with Pirelli Rosso 2s

8. Add selective carbon fibre and white carbon fibre to plastics

9. Remove petrol stickers from petrol tank

10. Change headlight for white Xenon bulbs

11. Change single side light to white LED

12. Place white LEDs into bike for that 'Tron' look

13. Change oil and filter every month as usual 555

Keep those good times rolling.

Congrats on the new bike. I wouldn't focus too much on the peripherals, that's an awesome engine and chassis you have there, just ride it and enjoy it :)

Congrat on the new ride mate.

She looks great and i'll be down soon to take it and the jacket for a spin

Great stuff.

Weekend ride out then eh?

You'll really notice the gearing (5000rpm at 120 I think).

It's screaming (pardon the pun) for a smaller rear sprocket to ease those revs.

Maybe then I can go and race the big lads (Harley23) on track eh???

That's without getting my knee down!!! Yikes!!!sad.png

Saving up for the Rosso 2s thumbsup.gifthumbsup.gifthumbsup.gif

Really sux don't ya think that we buy new bikes & still need new tires. wink.png

I would like dealers to offer a choice especially when a bike is marketed

as a sport anything. at least give us the option of Rosso's or what ever & let us pay a small up-charge

at the time of purchase.

Instead of some crap stock tire that we need to change out right away & try to sell etc.

I wouldn't worry about changing the rear chainwheel yet. I was thinking about it aswell, but after while you get used to it.

Putting a smaller one on would slow the acceleration down a bit. You'll soon be wishing for a more powerful bike, especially when your really screwing it and a fireblade comes whizzing past with apparently no effort..

If he changes the gear the fireblade might tie him off the line. Stock he should beat the blade off the line. Top speed the blade is unstopable.

really a stock z1000 beats a stock blade of the line you sure about that ,what with the blade being lighter and more hp?

As for changing sprocket unless you wanted to do some serious racing I wouldn't have thought it was needed , thought that was the point of litre bikes got so much grunt don't matter what gear your in the power is always there.

Depending on gearing, I could see the Z1000 beating the CBR1000RR off the line- it won't stay ahead through an entire 1/4 mile (which is the real test of a bike's acceleration), but stoplight-to-stoplight it's very formidable, and it makes its torque pretty low in the rev range.

Just looked at a video on you tube with two of them racing the cbr couldn't keep his front wheel on the floor and lost ,another one the cbr won ,obviously extremely close and skill of rider plays a big part,as rubbersidedown mentions really need to look at 0-100km and blade win everytime me thinks

Of coarse if we are talking blade bought from Honda big wing it will get it's ass kicked everytime but I don't consider big wing blades as real blades anyway for reasons that are obvious

The so called white carbon vinyl sticker hasn't worked so will try and find a whiter one hehe.

heheh mai bpen rai but yeah it is kind of an eggshell white isn't it?

No worries just go straight white wrap ? ..I think it will look cool & you can always add

some brand stickers you support

Posted

Yeh, but finding a matt white wrap is quite tricky.

Going to pock my head in that car wrap place just before you turn onto the 7 motorway on Sukhumvit Pattaya on the corner there.

Anyone want some CREAM carbon vinyl sticker sheet???

The rear seat is away getting the stuffing ripped out for a more softer more refined type of foam so that the girlfriend doesn't get a sore bum anymore cheesy.gif

mania that zx model is superb.

i just wonder z1000 guys, can you just install the faring of 'zx' to 'z'?

I checked and found out that the fuel tank of zx is larger than z so it might not fit fully but maybe just curious.

just looking quickly its no. the swing arm is not the same so I have to assume the frame its different.

That ZX-10R does look really nice, but having owned a bike with white wheels before (1st-gen VFR) I know they only look nice for about two minutes into the first ride after they're washed- never again.;)
