TravelerEastWest
Company VAT required for all work permit all over Thailand? In Bangkok I was told that my small company needed a VAT license and monthly payments for my work permit to be renewed. Then I was told that in some areas of Thailand the rules that are followed are different and as long as your revenue is low enough that you don't need a VAT license and you will not need one for a work permit. 1) Is the above true? 2) Is the requirement in bangkok to have a VAT license a law or just a Bangkok office requirement? Thank you.
Sunbelt Asia
We have heard of cases in Koh Samui where they did not require vat. In Bangkok it's always required. There is no written law but they made it a defacto law by always requiring it. [sunbelt][/sunbelt].
