I fancy having a few days in HongKong with my lady but can't seem to find anything suitable vai the internet. Probably only want about three days, with price including air fare and accomodation, maybe a 1 day tour thrown in.

Book it yourself, much cheaper.

For flights book Air Asia/Bangkok Airways/Cathay Pacific etc.

Hotel, book via Agoda

Tour, Big Bus day tour, does all the sights.

Also, can do a day trip to Macau.

Worth checking flights and hotels for Macau and do a day trip to Hong Kong.

Have fun.

I saw one with Cathay and peninsula hotel the package is a good deal although not the cheapest at about 13,000 baht per person all inclusive of a limo transfer Brekkie etc

So if the lady is worth impressing this is a good deal

Check the travel section of Thursday's Bangkok Post; that is the day for the most travel ad's and many packages are advertised.

Be sure to check up the hotels they offer on Trip Adviser or other rating sites. The ones they offer for their lowest prices can be pretty dumpy and in lousy locations. Naturally, they will be more than happy to offer you upgrades for a higher price.

All that said, I have ended up with pretty good deals to Singapore and KL. but I did do my homework and upgraded the hotels.

13,000 baht PP isn't too bad, especially at the Peninsula. How many days/nights was it and where did you see it advertised?

giddyup - Emirates has a companion special on their website for THB 8160 return on their A380.

Put this together with some agoda type hotel deals, and you could package a great trip for yourselves

Just flew to Hong Kong this morning for a 3 night shopping trip.

Thai air return 9xxx baht each.

Staying at prince hotel (Marco polo) about 8000baht per night, quite expensive I feel for the standard of hotel but location is in the thick of all the shopping.

Prices of clothing are a bit cheaper than bkk.

Marco Polo & Prince Hotel has the best location if u love shopping its next to the Harbor City Mall and within walking distance to all the mods and sat avenue etc

The hotel is expensive for the age of the hotel but they are banking on their location

Cheers

There is a great little hotel on Ashley Road "Citadines Ashley Road" direct is $175 a night. It's self catering so you can pick up some snacks. I'd do Emirates just to ride on an A380, the return flight may be a little late but well worth the ride. Train from/to the airport is easy peasy.

In terms of tours, do it yourself so you aren't taking on a factory tour afterwards. Take the Star Ferry over to Hong Kong Island hop on a bus to Stanley Market for lunch and a little shopping. Macau is a fun day trip and easy to get to, the Church & Square are really nice. Other things to do, a few drinks at the Felix Bar (Peninsula Hotel), Night Market Temple Street, The Peak. At the Star Ferry terminal TST side there is a HKTA office with lots of free maps and suggestions.

I`ve stayed a few times at the Hong Kong ( Marco Polo) same group as Gateway and Prince.

Good location & service but not cheap.

Tour, as already said, better to arrange yourself.

Star Ferry Trip to HK Island good plus a visit to (Victoria) Peak worthwhile, stunning views, maybe try to go just before sun down.

Bus or taxi, every driver will know where it is.
