Mine died 12 years. Decided to go the upsidedown fridge with freezer on the bottom ,makes sense as I use the freezer the least and don't need to bend down when hunting for fruit ,vegetables ( bad hip)

Getting appliances repaired is never a good idea. Just buy new.

Just to add the repair man is now offering me 500 Baht to take it away .


Told him I want more than that so looks like he will go to a grand.

OP, have you even tried to unplug it over night that all ice disappears? 

Been unplugged for a week now .

Before there was ice forming behind the plastic making the fan make a noise .
