My friend is asking where can she buy a set of Thai stamps and a whole set of Thai currency, preferably the old currency notes and coins. Her close friend is into collecting stamps and currency, and she's planning to give her these set of gifts when she gets home during Christmas.

Anyone who has information? Or is there a site where she can buy on-line?

Thanks. :)

You can buy various issues of stamps at the bigger post offices.

Lots of coin and stamp sets on ebay, or at least there used to be.

60 Baht notes look nice in good condition. I have a couple but not got round to framing them yet.

If you are in Bangkok, then outside the General Post Office (GPO) on New Rd. (also known as Charoen Krung Rd)

every Saturday and Sunday morning there is a stamp/coin/banknote fair, although the emphasis is on stamps. This

is the place for older issues.

Inside the GPO there is a philatelic desk that sells the more recent sets and souvenir sheets which are displayed on

racks for you to select from.

If you are not in Bangkok then your nearest main PO will have a small selection of sets and souvenir sheets, although

much less than the GPO.

Ebay is fine, but you have to know what you're bidding on (and when to stop!) and have to also factor in the

postal charges for delivery.

http://www.thailandphilsoc.org.uk/

is the Thai Philatelic Society which is based in the UK.

http://www.thaiphilately.org/

is the USA equivalent.
