I've actually had 3 'artificial' teeth replaced.

Found a really good dentist in Bangkok ... not the fancy one catering mainly to foreign customers (typical in Pattaya), located on the main road ... but a Thai dentist who did his degree in Thailand and post graduate studies in the USA.

Got 2 done initially at the cost of approximately $1,200 - $1,400 each (about 3 years ago), X-Rays were included in that price. the price variation depends on the type of post you choose.

A little extra for some artificial bone which had to be inserted as I had an abscess under one of the teeth.

That took a little time to heal.

Then the posts go in and takes about 3 months for the gum to heal.

Really feels like a mechanic is working on you and the post is actually 'screwed' into place.

The fitting of the tooth is the simplest and easiest part of the procedure.

Three years later ... nary a problem with them ... biggrin.png

So, to the OP, one problem that you encounter is that it typicially takes 3 months between inserting the posts and the fitting of the tooth.

Certainly will be curious what price you get quoted for the operation.

I will be interested to see the OP's quoted price too. Prices for dental treatment have gone up significantly since you had yours done 3 years ago.

A few months ago I made an enquiry to an Hungarian dental practice

Last week I had an e-mail advertisement quoting "special offer" 400 British pounds per implant

Sadly it is too far to travel to make it worth it

It does surprise me how the Thai prices have risen in the last three years

If its a small central tooth it should be about 30k Baht

yes its a centre lower tooth,so not as gruesome as a upper, would be happy with 30k,i think the only other option is a 3 unit bridge which i think would be about 18000,i think if i can get the implant sub 40k will go for it.my thinking of £1200 in the uk was actually wrong when i phoned for a quote after posting was quoted approx £1800

Was definitely surprised by your £1200 UK quote. I'm sure there will be extras to be added to the £1800 quote too.

I recommend Ms Suwangatte at the Phyathai Hospital in Sri Racha(Only 40 baht by bus from Pattaya. Just behind the Robinson Mall in Sri Racha). She is a qualified Implantologist, as opposed to a general dentist who will just hand you over to an Implantologist and take their cut.

Expect at least 40k and be assured that you will get the best advice and care in the first instance.

Though be aware that you may have to wait three to six months between the implant being inserted and the crown being placed. So you may have to spread it over two holidays.

There are instant load Implants, but they are probably more expensive and perhaps less reliable.

They have a liaison for foreign patients. Though the dentists all speak English, the reception staff are less adept.

His name is Gavin. Will PM the number, as I'm not sure if his number is for the public domain.

sorry,

I think it is a bad idea trying to get implants within 3 weeks !

As it was allready postet, it can need some months befor the new teeth can be fixed.

And there is allways the possibility of complications, and this would need time ...

And if they would fix the teeth before the implant is ready for it- just to get it done within this time frame-

- good luck ! (you would need it!)wacko.png

I just had a root canal procedure

which I was very pleased with and I would definitely recommend my dentist.

His name is Dr Suwat Weereerat

https://plus.google....out?gl=th&hl=en

but there is a picture on the wall in the surgery showing what is involved

when you have an implant done and it said quite clearly underneath the picture

that it takes anywhere from 3-6 months to heal

"bomber"....

You should also check with the German Dental Clinic, located on the inland side of Thappraya Rd at Soi-9.

It is run by a German, who is fluent in English and other languages.

He is not a dentist, though _very_ knowledgeable and ran a large dental lab in Germany

The clinic has Thai (female) dentists each with different specialties/training..

The clinic has what may be one of Pattaya's the best dental labs onsite.

I've had 2 implants, 6-years ago...and have not had any problems!!

And, unlike any dentist I've experienced in the States, they guarantee their work

and if a problem later arises they will correct it...for free.

Well, i would go to Dental for You directly opposite the Tuk-Com entrance on Pattaya Tai Rd

The dentist there is an implant specialist and a couple of years ago did 2 implants of the large Molar size for 40k each

for me and i was extremely happy with his work & price.

I remember back then that the smaller size implants were 25k.

Worth going for a free check and estimate

Im just having the procedure done in the uk

It was actually promoted on a group on deal at £500

I've had the pin put in to my upper jaw and it is a 6 month wait for it to bond into the bone

It seems a long wait but they were insistent they couldn't do it sooner for it to be successful

Lower jaw is 3 month s from pin to tooth

Dr.Warin @ The Dental Care Centre, Pattaya second road- find their website and make an appointment-I found this guy through recommendations on here and trusted him with £3,000 of work including an implant-he was 30% cheaper than other recommended dentists and I can give him no greater praise-you are a fool to go anywhere else IMHO

If its a small central tooth it should be about 30k Baht

The key is to shop around.70000-85000 for 1 tooth.Thats about what us prices are

I doubt you can get implant + crown for 30 k in Pattaya. All places use imported material (from Europe or USA) that cost about 30k already, for molar/pre-molar!

Most places I see in Pattaya show a 45-50k prices. I saw a few ones between 40-45k, never less.

As i stated in my post, i paid 40k each for large molar implants a couple of years ago.

At that time the same dentist was quoting 25k for small front tooth implants,

so there's a distinguished difference in price between the two different sized teeth.

That's why i estimated around 30k for a similar tooth that the OP needed.

Seriously, go to the place that I have recommended. I checked and double checked the credentials before proceeding. At the time of my work being done, she had done more than five hundred implants. She is also the head dentistand an oral surgeon. Other peoples recommendations are simply on the work they had done for themselves, whilst many have simply chosen on price,
