Sounds like the jelly is the slop we normally throw out in Oz....or give to the dogs.

These pork pies are a pommy thing ain't they ?

them slops is what i was brought up on,when you roast a nice piece of pork take the meat and put it on a plate, then pour the fat and scrape all the bits on the bottom of the roasting tin into a cup then in the fridge overnight, get a fresh crusty loaf, put the knife into the slops[dripping] and you will see half way down the cup under the dripping the jelly and the bits spread generously a little salt yumeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.heart attack on a plate.if you dont fancy that use it to make the gravy.they used to feed the rugby front row on it.

Even better than the bread & dripping described by Meatboy is, after you've poured out most of the pork fat out of the roasting tray, and use a slice of bread to mop up the remainder of the fat and all the good bits left in the tray...delicious
