Other Business Affected By Bird Flu

Chatuchak market had far fewer visitors this weekend because the culling of birds at the market scared away customers. I suspect the same thing has happened at every market where chickens were slaughtered. Therer wasn't a single customer at my local KFC today, and I haven't seen chicken on sale at Thai food stalls for several days. If things don't start returning to normal this week, thousands of people who don't work in chicken farms or processing factories will also lose their jobs. It's scary to see how fast things have developed, and the government response isn't exactly encouraging.
